Tuohy hasn't broken 15, let alone 14. I assume most people's times here are far superior. Wejo ran 28:06 which is faster than Kipyegon for the 5k, but he did it twice back to back with no rest.
The simple fact is the top echelon of the sport is based on chemistry no matter how much the apologists on here try to rationalize. Natural talent has no chance. Kipyegon for example shattered a record beating out a rogues gallery of the most notorious dopers in the sport, including the Chinese and Soviets. The idea that this was clean is utterly laughable. So comparing a normal college runner to the top pro runners is an intentionally dishonest, invidious comparison.
52 wouldn’t win very many races among the best women, even at the college level, when the best are expected to go under 50, nowadays.
Sure, but the runners in the 52 range and below are sprinters to 800m runners. Not 1500m/5k runners. She doesn't need to be able to run a 52 to improve her mile time, and the point is it is very unrealistic.
Notice I gave an ambitious ‘range’, 52-55. The hyper focus on the low end is typical BS. If 52 is too ambitious then 55 is attainable. She will need to be able to close in 60/61 to match the best. If her body is able to experience multiple 55’s in a given workout routine it will find the speed to close hard in the final 100/200. Has anyone here ever experienced training for 800/1500 races at a high level? It doesn’t seem many here have. Her current speed is adequate for winning most races that are run all out from the gun to the tape. The championship races, however, frequently become tactical, where closing speed wins the day. KT ran a 4:06 where she controlled the pace through the entire race. The tactical 15’s favor the explosive closers. If she can add that final arrow to her quiver of skills it won’t matter what type of race is run.

Tuohy is no different than other elite runners. If she doesn’t improve to sub-4 for 1500m, she will be dropped or outkicked when running against the best.

Agreed and she knows it. Fortunately, you recognize her to be in the ‘elite’ class. Many here are in denial about that.
she had a great college career but her career is over soon. She won't run below 14:50. That is her max. Her 1500 max might be 4:03. Solid runner but the elite runners are so much faster.
You are spot on with your predictions. But her fans can never be incorrect. They will still be talking her college career and how she had no more to prove which is why she walked away from the sport.

This from the poster who limits "world class" to sub 14:20 (or only 3 runners)
I would probably say 14:20s makes a runner world class. I think you misread an earlier message. You do that frequently, especially when your Tuohy is involved
