Nobody wants to talk about how we have gotten out of control with "freedoms and rights", especially the freedoms and rights of those people that are a harm to themselves and others. Guns in America aren't going anywhere. We have more guns in circulation now than we did when you were born and we will have more guns in circulation when you die than we have right now. Not going to change.
If you remove the top 20 most violent zip codes in America (all Democrat-run for decades), the gun violence rate in this country is in-line with other similar countries.
Furthermore, if you consider how many guns we have out there, on a relative basis (violence per firearm), we're probably the safest country in the world (again, relatively speaking).
If you want to solve the problem, you have to solve the people:
-End the failed war on poverty/Great Society and any related federal programs
-Put violent people in jail with max sentences (the reverse has been occurring the past several years thanks to Soros AG)

Your view of religious child molestation and school shootings are both completely ignorant.
Priests aren't any more likely to molest a child than a plumber or a school teacher. They just get more media attention when they do because of their profession.
Similarly, you have no idea how rare school shootings are because you've been told by your phone/television that they happen every day.
In March 1996, 26 years ago this month, a gunman killed 16 kids and a teacher at Dunblane Primary School. The UK government responded by passing tight gun control legislation. In those 26 years, there have been a total of 0 school shootings in the UK. Why can't the US fix this? How many more children need to die for the sake of "freedom"?

There are psychopathic murderers running around everywhere in the world. In the US they happen to use guns to kill people, other places in the world they happen to use other weapons. I'm more focused on the people than the weapons.
If you remove certain demographics of people from the US, though, our murder rates would be comparable to all other first-world countries.
