BREAKING Pelosi: Putin will pay even without Ukraine invasion: you can’t ‘bully the world and take a walk’
Might as well invade then, right? Way to de-escalate, Pelosi! Like telling a hostage taker he's spending the rest of his in prison whether he kills someone or not. No way out for Putin now....
CNN BREAKING: 'Worst-case scenario' between Ukraine and Russia 'could happen as early as next week'
What could this mean? FULL SCALE NUCLEAR WAR? THATS WORST CASE, RIGHT?
Also CNN: Just checking, did you guys forget about the Zucker and Cuomo scandals yet?
The invasion was imminent several days ago.
Now pushed to next week?
How long can something be imminent?
This is exactly my whole point. Why are so many of you ok with this continual rhetoric that’s false time after time? Its perpetually “a few days away”. Biden and his admin are basically pleading with Russia to invade.

190,000 plus individuals within 100Kilometres of Ukraine's border and doing training exercises. Russia does not want to cross over into Ukraine. U.S. generals and U.S. diplomats are not being honest when they are stating Russian military is in attack mode. Attack mode is moving at 25 plus miles per hour firing and crossing enemy lines. Putin wants to negotiate.
Did those countries change hands as sovereign nations? or only Georgia, Crimea and shortly Ukraine??
Do you really want this debate? Do we need to have a body count discussion? You were wrong. If we start a body count discussion you will look foolish. Just admit your post was not accurate. Doubling down is not helping. Post your body count total from Georgia and Crimea then I will respond with Korea, Viet Nam ... .
I’d gladly take the debate. what have I said that’s not accurate? Russia is the only country on Earth who invades others and plants their flag. I’d find that a difficult country to trust, if I were Polish, Romanian or Czech. Nothing I said is wrong.
Nice try, but you must have forgotten about Crimea 8 years ago.
You do know the US overthrew the elected govt of Ukraine in 2014?
And, in response, Crimea elected to go with Russia?
You should
No, I don't know that, because that's not what happened. I do know of the Euromaiden uprising that lead to the ouster of Yanukovych. To settle the protests, Yanukovych made a deal with opposition lawmakers to hold new elections, but then fled to Russia instead of sticking around. The Ukrainian people hated the guy.

You know U.S. has filled far more body bags of so-called adversaries than has Russia or Soviet Union post 1945. The fact that U.S./C.I.A. find friendlies to officially act as head of state does not make U.S. less adversarial than Russia/Soviet Union. If you feel happy U.S. has not officially added a U.S. Territory or added another U.S. state, you win that narrow victory.
Russia won’t invade that is crystal clear. They don’t want Ukraine to join NATO and then try and take back Crimea which WOULD force Russias hand in going to war with all of NATO countries so their whole purpose is to prevent war.
Biden keeps sounding the alarm though, using fear based rhetoric and talking of a certain, imminent invasion. The USA just looks like fools in all this when nothing happens despite highly specific predictions.
Bet Biden is just helping Pelosi short the market.
I honestly can't tell if Russia is just making a show of force to try to get a long term commitment to keep Ukraine out of NATO or Putin does intend to invade. Biden is not playing 3D chess here, there is no master plan. It could be something very simple where he looked like a weak fool after the Afghanistan debacle and his administration has hyped up the Russian invasion they don't believe is coming, so when it doesn't happen it does look like he showed strength and won the day. It seems like a bad time for Putin to invade with the whole world watching and the potential restrictions to natural gas exports that could come down on Russia. But as an Authoritarian leader of a failed superpower it is important to project strength and I have a hard time seeing him back away with nothing. Maybe there is some middle ground where some of the more pro Russian regions of Ukraine get carved away but there is no full scale invasion that allows both Putin and Biden to declare victory in front of their supporters.
But I do have to go back to the fact that Biden is legitimately very stupid. He has enough trouble putting his pants on each day for me to believe that his administration could create this invasion narrative and make it seem credible for a political win.

For the record, U.S. has about 750 military bases on foreign soil. Each base is like a U.S. Territory. Since WW2, U.S. has claimed North Mariana Islands as a territory, Guam, Okinawa and numerous atolls and smaller territories. Effectively, since U.S. forced Germany and Japan to unconditionally surrender, Germany and Japan are almost like U.S. Territories.

Or Georgia. Or just oblivious on Putin’s repeated and public statements denying Ukranian cultural autonomy.
How's Georgia doing today? Are they under Russia control?
Another interesting point... Kazakhstan. Russia was just there, cleaned up the mess, and then left. So, why didn't they stay? You know, Kaz is a former Soviet block country.

Ummm, no. We completely backed it. Just like we have many around the world for decades. There was a time when 'liberals' were opposed to us funding color revolutions and imperialism, but now they fully support it.
I'm loving the illogic of Putin invading Ukraine so he can be closer to NATO, after stating very clearly that he wants the buffer of Ukraine and Belarus between Russia and NATO countries.

Putin has stated in his own words that it is about NATO expansion and that he does not want Ukraine to be part of NATO. Your attempt to defend Russia ignores that point.

Exactly. It is about NATO expansion... not Russia wanting to "recreate the Soviet Union" as so many think, and he has "stated in his own words" many times. Again, he has been critical of Lenin for destroying historical Russia.
This is the whole point. The media keeps telling everybody that he is invading... he's not. NATO is encroaching.

So, if Russia does invade Ukraine, is that NATO encroachment or Russian aggression?
By the way, encroachment of what? The USSR? The Russian Empire? Sovereign states have decided to join NATO over the decades. What are they encroaching on?
One thing Putin is accomplishing is showing that NATO still has a reason to exist. Funny, because that's been debatable for 30 years, but now the needs seems pretty clear.

I think anyone can see why Putin wouldn't want an actual, potentially highly-functioning democracy on his border. In any case, he's clearly instigating the same misinformation campaign that he used successfully prior to the invasion of the Crimean Peninsula to ramp up support from Russian people against Ukraine, but thus far it seems that he hasn't moved the needle all that much. Interestingly, 45% of Russians still currently view Ukraine favorably according to a recent NYT article. My guess is that Putin is carefully weighing the internal effects of the invasion prior to giving the green light. If he can't successfully sell the invasion of Ukraine to the Russian people, who knows how this plays out.
We need to send Trump and his knee pads over to meet Putin in Moscow. I'm sure our former Stable genius can convince Russia to stop their Aggression!
Just like they like to say he's a racist without citing any evidence to back it up, liberals also claim Trump was chummy with Putin without any evidence whatsoever.
But Biden is doing a good job with the Ukraine, we are a deterrent and will continue to be. It's clear Putin wants to invade, that's why Russian trolls like OP are trying to get Americans to view it as a partisan issue.
Dumb ass. He and his father were guilty of racial discrimination TWICE against blacks who were looking to rent apartments.
Also called for 5 innocent black and Hispanic teens be put to death.
Also repeatedly started and lied and said President Obama wasn't an American.
trump is a racist liar. Did I mention him making Mexicans an enemy by saying they are bringing drugs, crime and are rapists.
He said he believed Putin over 15 U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia interfered in our election in 2016.

Same ol' seems to think a sovereign nation has no right to decide its own alliances. And that a large country has the understandable right to invade a neighbor if the smaller country is not submissive to the larger country.
And also, same ol' seems to be believe what Putin says. Which is just weird.
