The highest quality of life in the U.S. for working class and middle class people existed in the 1960s, when the wealthiest were paying upwards of 70% income tax and union membership was at its highest. Go figure.

I think the 70% levels were on the wealth tax- which taxes "excessive wealth only in increments. But they were paying higher levels on their regular income and were still wealthy.

Property tax is a state/local tax, and it's assessed only on real property, not the various other assets that a billionaire may own, just saying. Property tax assessed value is also usually below fair value by a good bit.

I think the republicans are right to make the low income people choose between starving and health care. So reduce taxes for the rich and take health care away from the poor. I guess they don't deserve to live.

And while we are waiting for the Democrats to concede the idea of health care for the poor we will starting on November 1st take away their snap benefits so they can no longer afford food. Let's starve them out so they pressure their representatives to pass a budget that will kill tens of thousands.

Immigrants are why we have such a consistently high GDP. Like most developed nations, our birthrate is now well below 2.1, the number needed to sustain the population. Countries like Japan are facing an economic implosion in the next several decades as their population shifts towards a massive elderly demographic with a fraction of younger people in the workforce. This is due to their incredibly strict immigration policies. The US is likely to avoid this problem specifically due to our much more liberal immigration policy that draws young people and young families to our country. Contrary to your xenophobic point of view, immigrants make us economically strong.

Rich already get to pay more than "non rich". At $75,000 AGI "rich" seniors start losing the bonus $6,000 (single) standard deduction. At $200,000 AGI everyone starts to pay an extra 3.8% tax on interest, dividends, capital gains (Net Investment Income Tax).
