If she ran the relay and then tested positive again and they won a medal the other 3 runners would lose their medals also! This has happened to US relay teams before in the Olympics.

You are missing the fact that while ibuprofen does not have serious health side effects, marijuana is a deadly carcinogen, and has many serious consequences. So, if you allow some athletes to enhance their game-day performance with marijuana, then those athletes would have an edge over others. This would put pressure on all athletes to use marijuana and seriously compromise their health in order to compete. We don't want that. One of the core values of athletic competition is the drive to improve one's body, not harm it.
Marijuana doesn't increase performance. And it's not particularly dangerous - certainly no more dangerous than many things we allow.

While Sha'Carri is suspended, she is not allowed to practice with her Olympic teammates. The US team does a lot of hand-off practice between now and when Sha'Carri would be eligible to return. I'm guessing USATF does not want to risk a dropped baton on an exchange between Sha'Carri and another athlete, due to lack of practice. I believe USATF would have selected her for the relay pool if she were allowed to practice with her teammates. What do you think about this theory?
Yes. She can’t train with them or even use the facilities
Why is it that not one person has dealt with the central part of the post?
Still not one other person deals with the post.
Beachball sharp; the lot of you.

The central part of the post was the theory that USATF did not want to risk a dropped baton? I don't think that's the case. Shacarri's ran relays at LSU. She's done this before. And if you've seen the USA 4x100 relay teams at all in the past 15 years, you know they don't practice much anyway.
You sound like the biggest puss of all time. The fact that you said over heating as a sprinter… good lord. Have you ever smoked or eaten the devils lettuce? I’m assuming you have cause this post is about as half baked as you are.

The "marijuana" positive was part of a backdoor deal reached for a positive PED test. Part of the deal was not being allowed to compete at olympics. Who knows what the remaining stipulations are. I knew as soon as she was "eligible" for the relay that she would find an excuse not to run.
Yes. Thank you.
Sha’carri would be average at best if she was on Jamaican team.
JAM has:
2 under 10.8
1 under 10.7
A couple of 10.8s
Hence, USA never had a chance even with her on the team. Sha’carri would have to run 2nd and anchor leg.
She admitted to it right away. Makes me wonder if she planned on getting caught all along.
I don't know that she planned on it, but any thinking person in her situation would have to know they were getting caught because ALL the trials competitors who make the team or relay pool are 100% going to be tested.
Ummmm.... WADA allows an athlete to have up to 180 nanograms per milliliter of THC in their urine, before a positive test for Carboxy-THC occurs. This threshold has risen dramatically, from only 15-ng/mL in 2013. It appears that she was smoking out big time. Thus, claiming second hand smoke is a non-starter.

After a couple of beers, this was the scenario that I started to believe more and more given the "body" language of all of the parties involved.

This theory is ludicrous.
Everybody knows our 4x100 teams never practice hand-offs. Duh.

Possible, but she’s 3 whole 10ths faster than whoever else the relay will have. That’s worth more than a good handoff.
Nah a good handoff is worth more than three tenths

Go home Carl no one wants you here
Would her relay team prefer her or someone else?
“I want people to know that I don’t have to take a steroid, I don’t have to take a drug, " she says in the UK.
Then gets handed an "L" by Dina .
Goes back to the US, to her tainted coach and all's well at the Olympic Trials.
The weed had no benefit? You're buying that load?
They prefer a sane person who won't get the team DQed. She is 50% likely to test positive and 50% likely to drop the baton or run out of her lane or taunt another team.

If abused (like most drugs) it can certainly have serious health side effects.
I would post a couple sources for you to consider but would rather not detract from the thread topic. Can be found easily with a google search right next to the side effects of Caffeine abuse.

Its not that marijuana itself is a carcinogen, its the way in which many people consume it. The combustion of nearly any material results in several toxic substances(some of which are carcinogens) which when inhaled do harm. A similar negative effect can be had by regularly sitting close to camp fires or living in a city with high smog. Back to marijuana though. It has many health benefits. So how how do we safely consume? Simple, Dont Burn it. Alternative options include: Edibles. Liquid Vaping, Dabbing, and Solid Vaping. Liquid vaping potentially has negative effects on the lungs and in many cases people dont Really know what exactly is in the liquid they are consuming so im not a fan of that. Solid Vaping is the best because you can use marijuana from a trusted source and put into an electric pipe which heats the material to ~400degrees F at which point all the good stuff with medical benefits vaporize allowing consumption while leaving behind all of the bad stuff that would occur during combustion. Many people are not familiar with this because Liquid vaping gets all the press so i'd like to share a few ViperDom approved options for anyone who might be interested.

Except that cannabis is not a PED and it has been effectively legalized in most of the U.S.
WADA has enough trouble fairly enforcing rules against actual PEDs. Every case is contentious, but the action against Sha'carri was perverse overreach.
Weed is illegal everywhere in the US federally. Some states don't have criminal laws for it.
