Hah was wondering when this would get thrown out there.

Need to make sure this still records properly.... nervous it won’t
What’s the DVR plan?
Original schedule and extend three hours or record the shows scheduled during the time the meet will now be aired?
Will it be on peacock like other nbcsn broadcasts have? I don't see the event on there yet...

It’s going to be on NBCSN
My guess is that stage 2 of Tour de France gets booted
All you really need to do on stage 2 is watch the last hour anyway
NBCSN shows “sign off” all day long.
I’m using sling and I see two separate nbcsn channels. One has programming and the other just says “off air”

NBC can splice together all the footage they have shown of Allyson Felix's daughter to fill the 5 hour air time now left open
That's pretty good lmao. As for the delay, they could have executed the remaining events in the morning (like the 5k). USATF...no words

What a frigg'in joke. USATF has known for what, 5 days now? Am here and it's actually been a bit cooler than forecasted for today. Many people drove a long way to get here this morning for the 5K, then drove home as they had well over 7 hours to kill, returned at 4pm, at which time they're told come back in 4 1/2 hours. Of those of us who are here from out of State, fully 1/2 had plans to fly home tonight as last scheduled event was to be at 4:52. A few of the fans here have jobs to be at tomorrow morning. USATF strikes again. With their 'track' record now over the last 12 years or so, I'm ashamed to say I was a member. Pathetic.
Yeah this is not a great situation.
They absolutely had to suspend action - It’s ridiculous and dangerous. So the right thing was done for the athletes - 100%.
On the other hand this wasn’t a surprise (as mentioned) and the USATF sold out a lot of fans - especially ones like myself that drove down from Portland for the day. I would guess 75% of people just packed up and went home - that was consensus around us. What are people gonna do for 5 hours in 110 degrees waiting for the restart? It sucks because they could have made the adjustment last night, we all could have driven down now and enjoyed a night session. $155 per ticket down the drain - little chance of compensation I’m going to guess.
Who fainted?
I feel like if nothing else. Moving the heptathlon like the 5 and 10 would have been sound. You’d think those three are the most dangerous to contest in extreme heat.
I've been at the Trials all week. My friends and I could see this train wreck coming a mile away. When USATF rescheduled the 5000 and 10,000m, we kept asking "Why don't they reschedule the other events too? Or at least the 1500 meters?"
The National Weather Service predicted that Sunday would be the all-time hottest day in recorded history in Eugene. ALL TIME.
You don't need to be genius to figure out that the worst heat wave in history is a terrible time to hold a track meet. DUH! A 5th grader could have figured that out.
Heads should roll at the USATF over this perfectly predictable fiasco.

The temperature is EXACTLY as forecast.
I wonder if someone at track overheated and they changed course because of that.
But they easily could have announced yesterday the meet was being held at 10 am pacific. It could have been shown live on NBC.
Yup one of the heptathletes was taken to the local ER.
Well I fully understand this is against let's run.com's criteria of being an A hole on this board how about thinking of the officials standing out there in the hot sun for hours A lot of them are in the best of health and are a little on the older side

In the Vegas area, I do hour runs as a middle-aged man. And I don't live there either. City workers in their 40's - 50's spend all day in the heat. The events were scheduled then.
Not all day. Outdoor work schedules are adjusted to start at 5am and end at 2pm in the southwestern states.

Agree! Why is USATF so regimented? Not only with the trials schedule but other aspects of their operation?
The trials schedule should have been adjusted days ago! Heads should roll.
