If there is any doubt as to why this cesspool of "information" is derided as the pile of bs it is, here you go.
What's wrong with what I wrote. He heard she ran a time trial and now it's been confirmed.
The fact that you don't know and always don't know is what's wrong.

Who needs sources when you've got crowd-sources?
I'd suggest that perhaps she didn't want to risk Covid, so close to the trials.
Maybe this is why Centro broke up with her, would tarnish his name and Olympic Gold.
The initial post on this thread, and allowing it to fester, is why this website is a total dump and no one in the sport respects letsrun. Oh but wait, when you post you're doing so as a fan yet when you write articles you're doing so as a "journalist"?

Wow. So strange. Does Nike even try to improve it's sketchy reputation?
Do they need to?? Are people not buying from Nike anymore? Where else are they gonna get their SuperSpikes?

But the truth is that the initial post on this thread is part of the reason people visit this site and even perhaps participate on the message board. You want to have your cake and eat it too. What Rojo did was not out of bounds. Not sure why some of you are criticizing him for it.
Agree. There's nothing wrong with the thread, and obviously nothing wrong with reporting that our once-leading medal contender ran a time trial instead of racing.
You could argue that there's something wrong with Nike choosing not to comment on this thread when they send armies of people out to comment on things like why Alberto should be allowed to do whatever his conscience permits or why Galen Rupp's testosterone medication wasn't testosterone medication.

Many would participate much more on the message boards if there were actual discussion of running as opposed to the occasional kernel mixed in with the turds, which is the current situation.
One of the guys who runs the website posted an unfounded rumor, which was "confirmed" by the reliable source "nikeman" so therefore it is newsworthy and is published as a supposed journalistic article on the front page? That whole article is basically just lifted from message board discussion.
Everyone knows this place is a cesspit but the Johnsons like the ad revenue so moderate lightly and keep the message board anonymous. This approach drives away many knowledgeable would-be posters and makes the site basically the TMZ of track and field.
Pretty sure Nikeman is a reliable Nike employee (to the extent that that's a thing) whose identity is known to many here.
nikeman has never been reliable. Just because you are 1 of 75,000 employees in retail doesn't mean you know sh!t about corporate.

I don't understand why you would call this an "unfounded rumor" when it was very clearly true. It's not as if someone just started a rumor and we started posting about it. Someone I trust told me she ran a time trial and we wanted more information about it. And guess what? We got more information!

Great bump. Fun thread to read now, with so many alleged insiders, rather: apologists, falsely rushing to her rescue.
How did this end up in the top 10 threads again...
I don't know... I was hoping for an "Is Shelby Update?" type thing. Curious to see what is going on.
I did ask "an alleged insider" about this on Wednesday and he had no new info.
If she comes back, will she wear super shoes?
In this case, where there was smoke, there was fire. In most cases, when athletes skip a race, it is because they are injured or bigger priorities down the road or are looking for a bigger paycheck, etc.
haven't heard from her in a minute which is good. Maybe she got a job and moved on.
