Gatlin missed his start, and had a short and weak drive. ADG was still asleep.
Although Kerley did well, it was not an exceptional win, it was a win over 2 depleted-looking athletes.
But he did look decent--and only decent--on acceleration and drive.
Need to see more. Encouraging, but the best guys will still be well ahead of him.
Anyone have any insight into the Sha'Carri Richardson tweet? I know next to nothing about her, is she just a drama queen or could something significant have happened at the meet?
Wow - Max Burgin 1:44.17, fairly dominant win. He turns 19 tomorrow.
British middle distance looking pretty good.
Max MFn Burgin! 1:44.17 for the 19 yr old.
Is she not running?
That was ballsy by Burgin, gotta respect that
Burgin WL 1:44.14. Ran from way in the front the whole race.

Check out your twitter feed and see for yourself. She regularly posts vague tweets, bans people for calling her out for being arrogant, and then laughs about "you have no idea what you're talking about"

The former
really no way to watch live for free in the US? how is anyone supposed to follow this sport
Is this a weird steeple configuration? Shouldn't the start line have been behind that hurdle, not in front of it?
For me the WA youtube stream worked with a VPN set to Netherlands.

VPN on your computer. Can't do?
VPN on phone. Can't do?
I’ve got Gatlin down by about 0.03-0.05 at first white line (40m?) and 0.08 down at 90m. Kerley’s RT was 0.05 better than Gatlin’s, indicating to me that their actual post-RT run time was roughly even in first half of the race and Kerley put 0.03-0.05 on him in the intervening 40-50m. His peak 10m time is thus probably at or below 0.01 faster than Gatlin’s for the race.
(I’m ignoring the increased lead by Kerley in last 10m - no idea what Gatlin’s big braking step did to his time).
Gatlin’s run looked a lot like his run in Tokyo last weekend. The problem is that Kerley’s harder to run down from behind than Shuhei Tada.
Other than 2015, Gatlin generally improves his start the most through the season. I expect that first 40 to get progressively faster

Ok I thought she had dropped out of the meet for a second.
