You are coming through as triggered. Reasonable minds can disagree. It is not unreasonable to see race based politics in these programs. If the program just need to be improved, why all the equity hype attached to it? Why the comparison of Asian and White vs others success under the recent math system in VA? This data is in the program material you linked only to show that it proves something is wrong with the program and not the obvious thing that is shows , the relative strength for math amongst the broader population of students.
This new program is designed to "prove" that non-Whites and non- Asians can keep up in Virginia,
Dog and pony show. Looking for cover by inventing something new in hopes it will hide learning differences.
Two of my sons have been on advanced math tracks from the start of middle school and one just didn't quite qualify, (MAP testing standards I think it was 234 for entering the 7th grade )
The k-6 program must have been not quite equitable to red heads like him compared to his brown haired siblings , if you select for white kid's outcomes. We should make a new math curriculum for the state!
