"The people who want this war" is Putin and all of his supporters. No one else wants this war. Ukrainians and those who support Ukraine just want Russia to stop their invasion and go home.

The only reason the Soviets beat the the Germans was sheer numbers. The Soviet army was grossly inept. And Stalin was more than happy to to take massive casualties. He figured it would be easier to govern a reduced population of peasants after WW 2. The Soviets/Russians have always been inept. They've always relied on numbers to win wars.
Putin has already lost. He's gotten his country into Afghanistan part 2.

That and begging for, and receiving, massive amounts of military aid and money from the real Allies. The amount of military supplies given to Russia by America and Britain surpasses all the military aid ever provided in history. We would still be chipping dead Russian soldiers out of the ice if we hadn't basically provided them with enough supplies to arm an entire army (and an air force).
Obviously, in retrospect, we should have just let the Germans destroy Russia, then gone in and destroyed the Germans. If we had, 75 years later we wouldn't be listening to this mentally deficient nation of serfdom-loving cowards and psychos threating us with nuclear bombs every week. Hindsight is indeed 20/20.
