I think RU will keep Crimea and some slivers in the East of UKR yes. UKR does not have the kind of army that can dislodge dug-in armies. I mean it's possible that once UKR starts an offensive the RU defenders will simply melt away into the hills, but if RU stands and fights I don't see UKR kicking the bear back over the border.

I suppose that might change if UKR eventually gets A10s or F16s and can dominate the sky safely. But RU anti-aircraft missiles are pretty good so that's all very unlikely.

All we are seeing is this kind of thing, and it's going to et worst.

They have already taken a good chunk of Ukraine and Ukraine lost Crimea in 2014.

Lots and lots of people have lost their lives and had their lives ruined due to a war that was easily avoidable. The people who want this war and their class are at no risk and in fact get richer due to this war

But you’re okay with lots and lots of people losing their lives, as long as Russia gets what it wants. You are correct that it was easily avoidable - Russia could have not invaded Ukraine. Of course, you’re okay with them doing so because you’re a hypocrite.

Or EU could have not lied to Ukraine about forthcoming, "so so soon" EU membership. Also could have not tried to impose an economic reform that would have bankrupted Ukraine. The false-EU-dreams-hungry woke Ukrainians (with Western help) could have not illegally overthrow the elected Government. Kievs regime also could have not commited a genocide of sorts of its own citizens in Donbas. And NATO could have not pushed its expansion towards East into Ukraine.

So many things could have been not done in order to keep Russia away, yet all of those things were done, absolutely knowing what consequences it could have.

It’s already been shown that every country that aligned with Russia at the breakup of the Soviet Union is a poor sh*thole, while the countries that joined the EU are prospering (at least twice the GDP per capita or any country that sided with Russia).

The Russian claims of genocide in Eastern Ukraine have been thoroughly refuted. Only people that believe Ukraine was ruled by Nazis believe that garbage.

Russia has repeatedly invaded its neighbors, then acts surprised when countries want protection by joining NATO. There’s a lot Russia could have done to stop countries from joining NATO - like not being the neighborhood bully. But, since Putin is an authoritarian a**hole, he instead decided to blow up apartment buildings in Moscow, then invade neighboring countries.

You’re right. There are lots of things Russia could have done differently, but they didn’t.

p.s. If the overthrow of the previous Kyiv administration was illegal (as you claim), then the Russian-supported overthrow of the elected governments in Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk must also be illegal.

All of these things that never happened sadly forced Russia to invade Ukraine and murder thousands of its citizens. Russia truly had no choice after the Grand Alliance of Elves, Dwarves and Unicorns unleashed a fiendish attack on St. Petersburg on All Hallows Eve in 2019.

Also, you’ve previously stated that borders should be redrawn whenever people want. So, then don’t you support redrawing the borders of NATO if people want?

There is no occupation of Afghanistan "for democracy" and occupation of Ukraine "because evil". Just two countries following their geopolitical goals, that's all. Either condemn both or accept both, nothing else.

Educate yourself. Don't stop at mainstream media propaganda, dig deeper and you'll find things :)

I've been to Lithuania this year. Far away from prospering. Try taking a cab ride from the Vilnius airport to the center and see for yourself :)

We had the conversation about GDP already. The West would own Ukraine after a while. Citizens get paid better but the country owns nothing, f.e. see Lithuania.

Do not forget, that Ukrainian citizens overthrew governments in Donetsk and Lugansk after the coup in Kiev. They were trying to be independent for many years before that already. Like I've said before, in reality there is no Ukraine, only West Ukraine and East Ukraine. Your country is sponsoring West Ukrainians killing Eastern Ukrainians.
