Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment of great importance. Nominees should be above suspicion and clearly psychologically qualified as well as professionally qualified.

This guy isn't, so he should be voted down.

Doesn't even matter whether the allegations are true. He's clearly a punk.

It's amazing how many of you are willing to call Kavanaugh a rapist in spite of there being zero evidence that implicates him. Anyone who can't see that all of this is politically motivated should seek help.

Did you know there was in-person testimony today from Blasey-Ford? Since we did not see Mark Judge cross-examined today, we will have to agree there is not necessarily enough evidence for an arrest of Judge Kavanaugh. You are wrong to state there is zero evidence of rape.

Ever since Senator McCain passed away, his protégé Lindsey Graham has been acting a bit different. Maybe he started weightlifting and cut the soy out of his diet?

Kamala Harris had the golden question but blew the application. On the way to the Canes/North Carolina game I was listening on NPR and almost drove into a truck when she asked Kavanaugh if he watched Dr. Ford's testimony in the morning, and he said no.

He's guilty and he's a liar.

I don't need any further evidence.

An innocent person absolutely watches every second of that testimony. Not only watches it, he makes copious notes and uses that testimony as the basis for his opening statement and everything he says during questioning. He amends everything he planned to say based on what he hears in the morning. You'd have to be a fool to believe otherwise.

Think about it from the standpoint of a truly innocent person: You've got to be shocked beyond belief at something like this claimed from 36 years earlier. Who is this woman? What does she look like? Does she jog any memory at all? If I listen to everything she says maybe I can make some sense of it. Maybe I can figure out who she might be confusing me for. I certainly can pick apart one claim after another.

On the other hand, a guilty person has every reason to totally ignore the Ford testimony. He never thought he would see her again. He can't believe this has resurfaced after so many decades, as threat to his career. He doesn't want to hear the familiar voice. He can't stand to relive the memory, to look at a face he remembers violating, or any recognizable gestures or idiosyncrasies.

A guilty person knows he can't fight a truthful summary from an accuser so he relies on a Roy Cohn/Donald Trump scorched earth policy of lies and fear and blaming the system and the Clintons and anyone who dares question him. After all, only the bottom line matters at all, not the truth.

If Kamala Harris merely understood what she had from the outset she could have entirely changed how the afternoon was remembered. She could have coaxed Kavanaugh into emphasizing how much time he spent preparing for his testimony. Kavanuaugh undoubtedly would have bragged about that. Then ask him if he watched Dr. Ford's testimony. Once he says no he has no idea he just stumbled into a trap. The liars always ignore the little details, like the fact that an innocent person would watch everything his accuser says, especially when in the catbird seat of being able to immediately follow her on the same stage, and with Dr. Ford unable to have a follow up rebuttal of her own.

Conservatives here will dismiss this. Who cares? They are not credible. I asked several people tonight at the football game and subsequently. Every one of them immediately agreed with me that an innocent person would watch the accuser, and a guilty person would not.

Big miss by a sharp person like Kamala Harris not to understand what she had.

Mark Judge hiding in a beach house like a coward is greatest testimony of all. I had to laugh at Lindsey Graham's childish outburst today. Let's see, there were three people claimed to be in the room. Two have testified. The other one is alive and well enough to give a statement. Simple enough. Do we ask him to testify? Heck no. He's the weak link and we know it. We can't risk a weakling like that on the stand, a guy who might accidentally tell the truth, even if briefly and without realizing it.

Then Kavanaugh is such a wimp he won't agree to an FBI investigation of the Ford claim.

At least I took advantage of the moronic conservatives on Predictit. They applied their own fear-based tendencies and somehow thought Dr. Ford wouldn't show up to testify. That price was down below 50 cents on a dollar with just a few days to go and after arrangements had already been made. Thank you very much. I'm always willing to take advantage of conservative stupidity.

Now I have shares in Kavanaugh being confirmed, also averaging 44 cents on a dollar. I have full confidence in Collins and Murkowski expressing their typical concern but following along like sheep.

I don't believe Kavanaugh would've acted the way he did if he was completely innocent. The powers that be definitely don't want the FBI, or anyone else, digging up Kavanaugh's past to find out his true character. Mark Judge refusing to testify under oath about these instances speaks volumes.

I believe that Mr. Kavanaugh was a rebellious teenager that has grown up and become a great man. I believe that he did things that embarrassed himself as a youth and can't defend them as a grown man. I also believe that he has been a great Judge. His problem is that he can't admit the truth. He is now a liar. He needed to say that he is not 17 any longer and how he acted then is not indicative of what kind of man he has become.

Of course that runs counter to the view of the American Bar Association and anyone that has worked with him.

The ABA also said that the Senate shouldn't vote and the FBI should investigate Kavanaugh about this.

So- in a job interview for a position for LIFE, you find 3 allegations of sexual misconduct, lying about being drunk, belligerent anger when challenged, and asking an interviewer if they ever were blackout drunk...and you are OK with that? You’d hire them?

My theory:

K got drunk after taking the SATs (or whatever test it was that he took the saturday after the golf tournament)

He didn't explain where he went after taking the test, just blanketly said he wasn't in town any other weekend than the Friday, which is directly contradicted by saying that he was in town to take the test.

Also blanketly saying that it couldn't have happened on a weekday is ,on its face, ridiculous.

All he did in answering questions was classic deflecting: disrespect the questioner (did you get blackout drunk?), talk about irrelevant accomplishments (I was captain of the basketball team!), disagree with obvious things that are true (that on occasion he drank too much).

I believed him after his opening speech, but having slept on it, the way he reacted to questioning was not innocent.

Also, on reflection, it was very cowardly for the Republican senators not to question Ford themselves. It was clear that the way this was set up didn't make any sense for the prosecutor. The Republicans didn't do it to be sympathetic, they did it so they didn't have to deal with their consciences.

Senator Graham has skeletons in his closet is what I took away from his speech.

The number of times Biden's speech was brought up was absurd. Especially the time Senator Lee did it.

The Grandstanding by the Democrats during Ford's questioning was also ridiculous. And I do believe there was political maneuvering behind what they did too. I thought Booker was impressive.

At any rate, it's annoying that none of this was set up to find out the truth, but rather for both sides to try to win votes.

My other theory is there is some party where Kavanaugh and Judge laughed at Ford, where she may or may not have been assaulted by a third person, and the laughter stuck with her and eventually Kavanaugh became an (the) assailant in her mind.

Kavanaugh also wouldn't want that discovered.

How about the Republicans and certain Democrats act like adults and agree to vote yes or no based on the FBI findings regarding the accusations by Ford, Ramirez, and Swetnick? No evidence beyond he said/she said = vote yes, any other findings = vote no.

It's worth noting that an investigation could've already happened had Feinstein not decided to play politics and keep Ford's accusation under wraps. Not every Dem has to agree, perhaps just the ones in tight re-election races so that in the event of no findings and the house is flipped, Kavanaugh still has enough votes to pass.

To be completely above board, immunity granted to Ford, Swetnick, Ramirez, Judge, and Smyth should they decide to recant previous testimony.

Why? Because this isn’t about being reasonable.

This is about the Democrats trying to block the appointment.

Democrats want him to be guilty. Republicans want him to be innocent. Like always, everyone's just waving the pom poms for their chosen "team" and no one cares about the truth. Same old political BS.

There is no requirement to be a lawyer to be on the Supreme Court. I'd suggest that if you think Republicans would care if he was disbarred then you have not been paying attention.

When pressured, Kavanaugh acted like a man baby, which is par for the course for a person associated with Darth Cheeto. I would not put this guy in charge of a Little League team, let alone the Supreme Court.

Err...not only is there zero evidence of rape, there's no accusation of rape.

There's also no corroboration of the alleged party even happening in the first place.
