What is it with researchers? Do they not have a clue what doctors claim is working in the field? I looked for a study that gave IVM for a minimum of 5 days with a continuation if symptoms still existed at day 5 as well as supplementing with zinc. I could not find a study that did this. If anyone has seen a study that does IVM 5 days or PRN and supplemental zinc, please post a link so I can see it. Thanks.
It's up to the party making the claim for a specific protocol to provide supporting evidence for their claims. It is not the responsibility of the broader research community to refute every claim that has been made about alternative protocols.
If in fact a substantial number of "doctors working in the field" have been following a particular protocol, then the data from which to draw statistical comparisons must exist and it wouldn't be a great deal of effort to compile a data set for analysis.
It's also the case that one would expect to see some benefit for related, but allegedly "sub-optimal" protocols if there is substantial benefit from the alleged "optimal" protocol.
