It's over. Russia is losing control of occupied territory. Hasn't made progress in weeks. And is now succumbing attacks within it's own borders.
Ukrainian flag over the Kremlin when?
LOL- you guys are so silly. Newsweek and WP, huh?
Remember when you were saying similar things back in March?
Its August 19 now.
It is August 19th now, so your point is that Russia's three day plan to overthrow the Ukrainian government has taken more than 6 months and shows no signs of success?
It seems pretty clear that there are Russian forces who have defected to the Ukraine side and are giving Ukraine intel and probably even access to Russian ammo dumps and sites inside Crimea (or may even be conducting their own sabotage missions in cooperation with Ukraine). Russian soldiers are getting slaughtered and Russia will not even bring their bodies home. Ukraine's success in Crimea and at targeting other ammo dumps is clearly a sign of mutiny among Russian forces and cooperation between Ukraine and mutinous Russians.
The crisis surrounding the Zaporizhzhia nuke plant seems to just confirm that Russia is facing internal strife. It looks like Russia is going to try to disable the plant in order to cut off power for large parts of Ukraine in order to degrade UA forces and cause strife among Ukraine civilian populations. I would not be surprised to see bombing of critical power systems at the plant that would force it to shut down completely to avoid having the core overheat and meltdown.
Russia Probably could have overrun Ukraine, but Russia didn’t count on Ukrainian receiving so much help from the West.
Also, Russia foolishly banked on support from China, which never came.
Instead of fighting Ukraine with China’s support, Russia is now fighting NATO with no support.
Huge miscommunication by Russia, which they are now paying for big time.
Also Ukraines are fighting for their country, and they are being proven to be motivated, tough and resourceful. Russians are being proven to be the opposite.
as I understand it, RU's main miscalculations were:
1) They though the UKR gummint would fold and run away. Instead, Zelensky became a rockstar warrior president. Amazing performance that will be remembered for centuries.
2) RU thought they had a bunch of spies in the UKR systems who would activate and go to work knocking out UKR institutions. Putin was told that would happen. It didn't happen - Putin's spies lied to him.
3) RU didn't think the west would care this much and for this long. Whoopsie-doo.
4) RU had way too much confidence in its fighting systems. The fact that RU never controlled the airspace over UKR is just absolutely shocking. That was the thing they absolutely could have done and should have done but never did it. Blimey.
I will say that #3 is still in play - a Western Europe without enough energy will not be a pretty thing. That could put a lot of pressure on european politicians to fold.
Has the world ever seen military incompetence like this? The Russians accidentally blew up nine (9) of their own war planes in Crimea. Half their Black Sea planes.
Russians set new standards for military buffoonery in WWII, but things were supposed to have improved under Putin. Doesn't look like it. We may not even need to use NATO troops down the road. Just watch this mongos blow themselves up.
The Kremlin is busy seeking to allocate blame for the debacle and President Vladimir Putin is struggling to hide Ukraine's success from the Russian population.

Has the world ever seen people so vulnerable to state propaganda?
You are aware the Russia are the ones claiming it was Russian incompetence that resulted in the destruction of half of the Black Sea Fleet’s aircraft, right? Just like Russia claimed it was Russian incompetence the caused the Moskva to sink. You do accept the the Moskva sank, right?
Assassinating civilians is always going to fail the "terrorism" sniff test.
It's a categorical war crime.
Suspected collaboration is no hall pass. Non-combatants are protected by Convention.
It's advantageous for the Ukraine side to distance themselves from criminal acts and to remain ambiguous about attacks on foreign soil. And it is good PR to paint attacks as partisan; oppressed people rising up against "Orc" invaders.
The reality is people in the Donbass and surrounding area genuinely identify more as Russian than Ukrainian. Those stabbing public officials and planting car bombs do not represent the local majority.
The Ukraine Defence Ministry acknowledges sabotage is being conducted or coordinated by its Special Forces:
"Ukraine is activating a “resistance force” under the command of Ukrainian special forces... Ukraine’s Western backers have been involved in training the special forces that are responsible for the attacks, said Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky. NATO partners have provided trainers to show the Ukrainians how to operate behind Russian lines, he said."

Russians would rather cite accident or (isolated) incompetence than admit significant losses at enemy hands.
Ukraine also experiences high-loss events, and also plays them down or denies them.
On both sides, facts are sifted and twisted for propaganda purposes for audiences both domestic and abroad.

Carmine just impulsively yells "propaganda!" whenever he sees a post that he suspects may not be pro-Russian. The fact that Russia admitted they blew up their own planes is immaterial to Carmines' mind.
There is a reminder in here for all of us. When trying to jump start an engine, its Positive-to-Positive and Negative-to-Negative. If you wire the cables like the Russians did in Crimea, its KABOOM! 💥🔥
I said this from day one..........take this to Russia, hell a few boxs of matched could really mess things up. Well FINALLY we are starting to see attacks in Russia, about time.
Obviously Russia is whipped, so just what will Putin do now, this is scarey where he might go knowing hehas lost.

Putin and Russia will regret going into Ukraine, this was a hugr mistake one that will linger on for a long time.
What did Russian gain, 800 miles of NATO right on their borer with Finland.
