Fair comment and likely accurate. I recall one report of Russian soldiers eating a dog because they had no rations.

But to be fair, this is evident all around.

On there Ukraine side, there are also frequent reports of disorganization, desertion, poor or insufficient weapons/supplies, and incompetence.

A recent news article describes three Ukraine units all shooting at each other.

Ukraine drones, artillery and rockets, and Special Forces saboteurs are eroding Russian capability to supply front lines.

Contentiously, civilian public officials in Russian-controlled territory continue to be targeted.

Another Mayor near Kherson was abducted from her home. As 3 days have passed, she may not be returning.

Something like 100 Russian ammunition depots have successfully targeted in the last month.

In the last day, several more assaults on depots and infrastructure. Some on targets inside Russia. Presumably those did not use Himars.

It's over. Russia is losing control of occupied territory. Hasn't made progress in weeks. And is now succumbing attacks within it's own borders.

It’s important to note that Russia is NOT going to actually run out of ammo due to Ukraine successfully targeting ammo dumps. But, it does complicate Russian logistics in getting ammo to the units that need it. The more pressing issue for Russian artillery units is gun barrel life - typically around 2000 shots. While Russia may have vast stores of ammo, they likely do not have many extra gun barrels. At current rates, they are expending 20 to 40 barrels per day. That’s up to 15k per year. Completely unsustainable for the Russians.

I don't know what fantasies you have about Ukraine and if you ever been there

but as current Ukrainian passport holder in reality it's exactly like Russia with majority of Russian population. Just poorer. And have some funny language called Ukrainian which is spoken by less than 20% and which is mix of wrongly pronounced Russian and polish words

Pretty obvious Russia will never rule Ukraine so why keep trying? All that is being accomplshed is more dead Russians.

Because Putin doesn’t care how many Russian soldiers die accomplishing nothing. He’s a bit of an a-hole.

You better learn more about your own country then. Ukraine is 80% Ukrainian with 20 Russian. Putin seems to have made the wrong calculations too.

What gets me is where did they get the idea they could whip Ukraine?

Russia Probably could have overrun Ukraine, but Russia didn’t count on Ukrainian receiving so much help from the West.

Also, Russia foolishly banked on support from China, which never came.

Instead of fighting Ukraine with China’s support, Russia is now fighting NATO with no support.

Huge miscommunication by Russia, which they are now paying for big time.

Also Ukraines are fighting for their country, and they are being proven to be motivated, tough and resourceful. Russians are being proven to be the opposite.

Crazy huh. All it takes is one murderous invasion and people suddenly act like there’s a difference. Talk about splitting hairs!

Those are certainly factors, but the biggest factors are that Putin and the Russia military underestimated (1) the capacity for cowardice in the average Russian soldier and (2) the low IQ of the average Russian soldier. If you look at any of the many photos of Russian soldiers, you can see that fetal alcohol syndrome and various endemic genetic abnormalities have had widespread, devastating effects on the Russian population. Basically, when these people decide to run away, they have a hard time figuring out which direction to run in. How do you fight a modern day war with such people?
