If I'm not mistaken, NXN at-larges should come out tonight. I don't see how Downingtown West out of PA doesn't get a spot.
Heck of a job by Burnt Hills' boys to qualify after graduating their top 4 from last season. Despite an injury to their #2 (who was a good minute off today), they ran about the same team average as Downingtown West ran in the NE race.

3 of BH’s top 4 weren’t even in their top 7 last year. One of them never even went out for XC before. And they actually beat Shen by a larger margin than I thought they would.
Before the season started, 2nd place wasn’t going to be out of the question for Burnt Hills since coming into the season, FM was the clear favorite, but behind them it was gonna be super wide-open as the teams that finished 2nd-7th last year had many seniors, so there wasn’t a clear contender or 2 for second.

CBA did a good job reloading too. They only returned 2 of their top 7 from last year and kept the tradition of making NXN alive and made it a 10-peat

Same with Kamiakin from the NW. Graduated their first 1, 2, 5, 7. Came back this season to win NXR NW.

You know... if Metacarpa had run a high-170s SR today (something he's easily capable of, when healthy), Burnt Hills would have beaten FM. That's how well they ran today.

They’ll have another opportunity to do this a week from now.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if next year Saranac Lake beats FM boys and Saratoga beats FM girls
fm has qualified boys and or girls for every ntn/nxn since it started in 2004.
16 times total, 14 times boys and 14 times girls.
every single year the event has been held fm has been there as auto qualifiers, no at larges.
next year will be more difficult, but don't ever count them out.

That's not likely. "Shape" of the field really favors FM - their advantage up front becomes way more pronounced.

Really a solid job by their guys this season, considering that their pre-season projected #4 guy disappeared into thin air.
Word is Boyden is back in very good shape and will be ready for footlocker after a ton of time off so I think it will be Boyden, Methner, and Morris throwing down. Should be fun to watch.
