WHO CARES about these small christian college jobs. You know it's a slow year so far when people vehemently post about these positions. No one cares if they are open. Make your own thread and stop ruining this one.

Entertaining if not educational. I am sure this part of the thread was much more of a waste of time than debate over otterbein.

As well put together as can be expected for these boards and my guess is Coach Y doeth protest too much and he does know something about the Roberts job but didn't expect anyone to figure out who he was.

Some of us use these posts to get ahead of the curve in applying for jobs, not just gossip column news

I get that coaches make peanuts. But how can MIT be offering $11,000 for a part-time position given where it's located? That's less than your neighborhood sandwich artist at Subway. That's barely more than most graduate assistant positions pay (except with those, you also collect a degree on the school's dime).

Bryant, in rural Rhode Island (read: cheaper cost of living than Cambridge) is offering a similar position for $15,000.

Can I ask those in this business: What does part-time really entail? My assumption is that it means paid part-time, working full-time.

Is it normal for a D3 program to have 3 jumps coaches, 2 pole vault coaches, an assistant coach, and an associate head coach? Maybe thats why $$ is so limited.

I'm a part time assistant for track/xc and make about $12k. It is literally part time because I teach as my real job.

So is Rodney Zuyderwyk going to WAZZU or what?

Only the wsu admin can tell you that.... They are taking their sweet time deciding???? Why I have no clue!

word on the street from reliable folks here in the track world in Arizona is that the Arizona distance coach HAS been officially offered the position at WSU and turned them down. If true where does that leave WSU.

Coach James Li? That sucks if true. This hiring has taken a long time and I'm bizarre to me. I thought we would have hired a coach before the Pac-12 meet, which begins this weekend (multi events) and every other event the following weekend. I'll be at the Pac-12 meet.

Not looking good cougs... They (admin) might actually hire Phipps from Idaho instead of Zuyderwyk (Coug Alum)!!?? This would be a travesty.... If you have any balls and care about our future - write in to admin with your support for Coug Alum and great coach Rodney Zuyderwyk to take over program and not this Idaho coach with zero Coug ties!!??

Look at the Bryant and MIT programs. They are awful and getting worse. Then look at the number of coaches and what they pay them. Easy explanation. Just looking at the Bryant stats over the past weekend, it looks like they have a GA, a part time asst. and a head coach for a combined team. Total salary and budget for track and field doesn't even approach what they pay one coach for lacrosse.

I talked to one former asst. who claims they opened a new track facility and then promptly had the other sports teams trash it so bad that the university has to train at a middle school.

Both schools in the hotbed of track and field/cross country and they can't even compete with decent high school teams in the area.

Not quite true. The MIT program has a full complement of coaches and is one of the better D3 teams in New England.
