Like all good people, I'm glad the evil scumbag who did this is dead. It's awful that three innocent children died.
Now, for all who love what America is and could be, I say loud and clear to our enemies: you will NOT make this your Reichstag fire to ostracize and demonize trans people, nor will you succeed in using this to disarm the hundreds of millions of peaceful gun owners who have never and will never commit this or any other crime of violence.
There seems to be little demonization of trans people. But I do hope we soon come around to realizing that their severe problems are not solved by horrific surgeries, onslaughts of cross biological-sex hormones and a barrage of biological-sex hormone suppressors so that they can exist in their true bodies rather than the ones they were somehow allegedly wrongly born into.
Just last night I had to complete a medical form asking which sex I was "assigned at birth" for an upcoming medical appointment. My sex at birth was observed and recognized; it was not assigned. The health care industry is accommodating, enabling and even propelling this trans-activism insanity.
Hey lefties - maybe brainwashing large groups of people into believing the world is against them and that society wants them dead isn't the smartest and most moral thing to be doing. Especially impressionable kids suffering from mental health issues. Just food for thought.
The Colorado Springs shooter targeted Club Q venue during Transgender Awareness Week. It was not a "gay bar" as described in the media, the Q is for queer, specifically inclusive of trans and non-binary identities. You are going along with a killer's trolling of a community he set out to murder.
**The word 'transgender' appears very heavily in the coverage of the Nashville shooting (when it's the perp) but is erased in the coverage of Colorado Springs (when they were targeted)**
Also The Denver shooter was not trans. Every time there is a shooting, 4chan starts a rumor the shooter is transgender.
Parents send their children to school for an education. Children go to school to learn. They shouldn't go there to worry about getting shot at and killed.
More kids are gunned down at home or in their front yard than in schools.
You're reacting emotionally and not using any logic whatsoever.
Guns aren't getting banned.
Mental health and security are the answers.
Why obsess over something that won't happen?
I already posted nothing is going to change.
I don't worry so much for my son but I worry each and everyday for my daughter.
The same people who steer our foreign policy that kills hundreds of thousands of people all over the world with guns, bombs, drones, bioweapons, starvation, etc. are pushing taking away guns in America.
You trust them?
Good example is Mike Bloomberg who founded and funs the biggest anti gun org around, Everytown for Gun Safety. Same guy who has been pushing for war with Iran for decades.
It's often like that. Late in the second term of the Obama Administration, VP Biden and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo gave a talk at the McBurney YMCA on 14th Street in Manhattan. To use the gym or pool that day before they arrived, I had to get screened via a metal detector. There were dogs nearby to sniff for other things. There were massive numbers of heavily armed security personnel to protect the Vice President and the Governor.
Yet these same politicians were adamant in severely restricting gun ownership to people who do not have huge security details to protect themselves.
Did BHO and JRB carry guns? Or did they leave it to professionals, who know what they are doing? How many credible death threats/week do you receive? How many nation-states want to kill you, given the chance?

And firearms are the leading cause of death for kids in the US. So, banning guns would go a long way towards saving children both at home and in school. Thanks for walking right into that one.
This thread is 100% proof that social media is poisoning our society. All of you have gone insane. Take a breath. Go for a run. Hug your wife/kids/dog.
You are all foaming at the mouth. Agip/Adult in the Room/Precious Roy... all of you need a week off of social media. Please, just do it. I promise you will thank yourself.
We need more love. I am anti-gun, but the problem is not guns alone. C'mon guys.
I used to post on this site a lot back in the early 2000s. This place is 180 degrees different. I don't spew hate at my buddies on a long run...

Repeating the same lie over and over again doesn't make true there Goebbels...
How many times do I have to show you the actual data from the CDC before you'll quit lying about this??
Don't you dare tell me that I don't care about the victims because you don't like my question about what "change and policies" you think we need.
You don't care!!! How dare you question me about what I didn't post.
Go away, we only have room for one AITR
Why are you flipping the hell out telling me I don't care about victims just because you suggested that change and policies are needed, and I questioned what change and policies you had in mind?
He set out to kill trans people at a trans-inclusive bar during Transgender Awareness Week.
Crickets from the media about this. It was described as a "gay bar". Zero mention of trans people when they are victims. Trans only mentioned when they are perpetrators.
Schools without armed security are targets. The solution is simple. Armed officers at each and every school. Protect our schools just like our City Halls and Courthouses.
Police said (the shooter) Hale aborted plans to target another school in the area as it had too much security.
What lesson do we learn from the Nashville, Uvalde and Parkland shootings? The shooter picked a gun free zone. Duh!

Stories disappear when they don't fit the narrative. This isn't new.
Crazy people behave in different ways.
The Orlando nightclub shooter was a closeted muslim guy lashing out at people living the way he really wanted to.

I don't carry a gun. But there are many Americans who are at high risk of robbery, assault, even kidnapping because of their business, social status, wealth, income, living in a high-crime area, etc. (I realize that some of these categories overlap). And few of them can afford private security.
I am fond of the YouTube channel . It analyzes defensive measures that could or should have been used in the crimes shown in videos from police dashcams, body cams, banks, liquor stores, convenience stores, parking lots, etc. It is highly educational.
Every single day we post a real defensive encounter caught on camera and perform an after-action report on it for lessons learned. We educate the public on what we see that works and what we see that doesn't in real robberies, muggings, carjackings, and other defensive situations. Our approach is evidence-based, meaning we try hard not to have a pre-set dogma but to go where the actual evidence leads towards more positive outcomes for good people. Active Self Protection trains people in armed and unarmed self-defense. Our motto: cover your ASP! (that means your Attitude, Skills, and Plan)
Fact is 6 people died yesterday . That brings the total to 376 since Columbine and absolutely nothing is going to change. Nothing. This total will grow and there will be more anger and nothing will be done. I am pretty upset but we don't need thoughts and prayers. We need change and policies.
So 16 a year including teachers.
Did I mention 30 people a year are killed by dogs?
Even 1 death is horrible but it is wildly dishonest to pretend this is an epidemic.
This shooter planned to shoot up a different school. She determined there was too much security that the other school an opted for the school with less security.
The easy fix is more security not trying to pull 400 million guns out of circulation.
You keep making points by comparing deaths in the total US population by dogs and bees, to gun homicides only in schools. That's not a valid argument.
It's 30 deaths by dog and over 19,000 homicides by guns. That's a similar comparison within a population.
The patriotic song from Cabaret, in the Biergarten in pre-war Nazi Germany, sung by the Arian Hitler youth. You see many young and old people getting taken ...

Firearms are not close to being the leading cause of kids in the USA.
You are repeating the false statements of some pols and media.
Listening to the people in this thread, it appears to me the solution is so simple: we need to outlaw insanity.
What's that you say? We can't legislate away insanity? Dang ok, well maybe we should just make it so that you can't buy insane automatic rifles like the ones used in all of these mass shootings.
Also, I hear people like MTG advocating for more guns in schools and for teachers to be armed. That's fascinating. If we trust teachers to have guns in school, we should also consider letting them be responsible for picking the textbooks and novels in our kids' curricula. Wait, what? The same voices have been attacking teachers for picking certain books over others? Ugh, this is confusing...
All idiotic leftist bureaucrats know is "MOAR LEGISLATION!!!" as if pouring money and changing laws is how societal change really happens. It's definitely a useful tactic, but banning things won't fix the mental health crisis happening.

Armed officers at EVERY school, NOW.
As a fiscally conservative libertarian I don’t want to pay any more taxes to guards who aren’t capable of protecting themselves, let alone children. We should have thought about this before we threw the country overboard fighting a twenty year war killing Iraqis in the name of ‘terrorism.’
