We turned this around. You were asked to provide proof one way or another. Despite demanding proof of others, you did not provide anything palpable. You noted that Russians having used butterfly mines in Afghanistan more than 3 decades ago is suggestive they did recently in the Ukraine. This was refuted in detail.
To anyone objective, it should be plain that it is more likely a combatant would attack the opposition than itself.
Absent other information or indicators, this alone tips the scale to "more likely than not" [that Ukraine dropped the mines].
You could assign increased likelihood of a mere fraction of a percent and the statement would be true.
The problem is you and others are not remotely objective.
I have seen repeated posts celebrating death and destruction on the Russian side, using pejorative and de-humanizing terms, and blithely excusing or ignoring Ukraine mis-truths and misdeeds.
Criticism of the British MoD analysis that Russia was using butterfly mines in the Ukraine was based on (1) earlier, disproved claims, (2) the MoD having clear bias and having acknowledged its propaganda role, and (3) no evidence or cited source was provided by the MoD to substantiate their claim.
So you doggedly demand evidence at the slightest suggestion of Ukraine culpability, yet require none for emphatic claim of Russian blame.
One of your compatriots sharing similar warped views floated an outrageous claim that Russians rained mines down on citizenry to inhibit possible spies and saboteurs from moving about. Ridiculous as this is, it was also refuted in detail.
In this thread, I have posted hundreds of facts backed up by links to mainstream, Western sources. Most opinion has borne out - at least not been disproved.
I also post evidence and opinions critical of both sides in the conflict - something I have yet to see you do.
If I seem more critical of the Ukraine, it is because I call out BS - and most of the BS is coming from media and posters hyper-critical of Russia.
Regarding the Snake Island reference you're making - this refers to one particular attack made by Ukraine - I noted satellite imagery did not seem to indicate damage. Later, I saw a different or better satellite image which showed toppling of a pre-existing navigational beacon. I then made a follow up post to correct myself. Again, something I have yet to see you do - correct yourself.
Six weeks later, you harp on this as proof I must be wrong about everything.
