Has anyone heard anything about the Miami (OH) jumps job? Sounds like it's only a 10 month position but it looks like they've had some good talent to work with through the years.

Rumors I have heard are Vin will retain sprints, jumps, and throws coaches. Distance coaches will stay until end of XC season. After XC he will bring on two of his former athletes as assistant distance coaches. Names being thrown around are Nicole Blood and Trevor Dunbar.

(52 weeks x 40 hours) x $7.25 (Kentucky min wage) = $15,080
What will be illegal is if this person is not paid overtime. As the minimum to be exempt from overtime pay is around $28,000. There are types of employment that are exempt, but from the research, teaching is one, but coaching is not since more time is spent recruiting, administrating, than actually coaching/teaching.
So if this person doesn't get overtime pay, they could sue WKU. It will be interesting how work hours are defined when one is traveling for work?
This is what you must do to get into the profession!! Make it work if you have a passion to get into coaching business. I made $5K my first 4 years at D1 - didn't bother me one bit. I knew I had to put my time in and "EARN" a coaching position in D1!! Nothing is given to you. Hard work and dedication will get you through the lean years. Huge majority of coaches coming up in the 60's - 90's did it this way. Earn it
Keene State College (NH) head coaching position now open for XC/TF. Coach resigned this week. They've only been running 4-5 people in meets this season, down from about 30 before the present coach took the position a few years ago.
