Very inspirational. We have a vocation for you in the Good Ole U. S. of A..
The Post Office.
A 6:05 1500 converts to well over 22 minutes for 5K. Also I assume that the race is at altitude, which will be harder for 5K than 1500. So, for a course which is flat and fast, anything faster than 22 minutes is definite progress. Good luck and enjoy your race, Henry!
u are right.. I was thinking 3 mile....add another minute for the 5k.....21 minutes....look ahead 9 months.... a 150 lb. Rono will run a 16:40 minute 5k on the track..maybe faster.

To Brit,
The 91 day of training phase II,water aerobic exercise for 30 minutes sauna + 90 minutes water aerobic exercise +30 minutes whirlpool +15 minutes steamroom takes away the stiffness in the hips and knees issues.
I'm resting for tomorrow 5k race at 7am.
What is your prediction time for me?
.......
Henry
Water exercise, sauna, whirlpool, steamroom ... I'm going to have to try some of this stuff to get rid of aches and pains; glad your legs now feel OK Henry.
I think you'll do around 19:15.
Henry-
I am driving cross country right now and might be passing through Albuquerque in about 2 days (still not sure which route I am taking) Is there any chance I could connect with you for a morning run Tuesday? I'd be looking for 80 minutes at grandy pace.
PS I am in Pullman right now. Haven't been here in years. Looking forward to tackling my favorite run in the wheat fields tomorrow morning...
My guesstimate is 22:15
To great thread:wrote

Great threat, your guess was close enough, but one minutes off.
I ran 21:15 for 5k came seond in my age group the guy won it in 19:30s something.
This morning after along warm in the hills,if it wasn't the warm-up I think your guess could have been one hundred percent perfect. The warm-ups gives me an edge breathing lungs rhythym.
I had a good start and a good finish.I'm very please with this results and you guys are running along with me,I can tell from your prediction times.
You got to understand my early morning warm-up will always stay the same. This morning at 4:10am I went to warm-up at copper hill eventhough it was too dark, hardly one can't see foot-steps.But I had to do it for 81 minutes by 5:35 I was back to the house and took showers by 6:10 I was ready to drive all the way to the starting 5k race.
I started the 5k race at 7:00 am and finish SECOND IN THE TIME OF 21:15 MINUTES
I think yesterday water aerobic exercies help the stiffnes I had from the high school x-country training. The high school training will help alot.
Next week another 5k on sunday.I hope to stay on task to stay on target.

I didn't know Pullman still pulls people to run through the wheatfield.Oh well call me or email me and I will run with you for 90 minutes not 80 minutes in the thin air of high altitudes.
It is my business deal where you have to start slowly warm-up for 45 minutes and move up and in the end last 15 minutes hard and harder ana even faster and you can called a great work-out.How is that feels? When you think about that minutes runs with me.
I will see you, when get here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Henry - Great progress!! Can't find any pictures? Can you post the web address once any are posted?
Great job Henry! I said that anything under 22 minutes at Albuquerque's altitude is great progress- you were 45 seconds faster than that. At sea-level I think you are below 6:00 for the mile/5:30 1500, so you are still on a great improvement curve! What an inspiration for all those who are following your comeback.
Good job Henry!
I was WAY out with my prediction, but then I had no idea that you were going to do 80 minutes on the mountain to "warm up"!
Warm up? Hahahahahaha... that would be a hard training session for me!
Do you do this before every race?
I win the 'contest' !! As I predicted 21 minutes. Good job HR.....I predict big things for you next spring and summer.

You prediction is not too shiffy. Now I can see the light getting brighter in front of me.The spring is and summer my world will changed for good.
Do you want to jump on my ship? I'm heading the right direction I'm not kidding you!
I have a photo of July 16 running 1500 meters and I can't post into letsrun.com and for today should be with this race:
or email:

I want every one to see my progress that way it easy to predict. My today appearances was much better than july race,my knees were strong from take off and landing, that is what it counts. In the middle,I will cordinate that later.Unlike july 1500m race.

To Brit,
I do that every-time I'm racing.Since 1970s.It is my early morning piecemeal for my sciences lungs.
Everybody who gets in my program do it before the race.My runners used to say the race is at 7 am and I say get up at 4 am and warm-up.
There is alot of complaining about that,Bill Rogers does it before chicago marathon in 1986,I saw him coming in soaks sweat like a rain, rain on him and in few hours he runs Marathon that morning. That is why he has been the longest runner lasted in road-racing than any-body in the world.
Steam-up your race car engine for the oil to go through every wheels of the joints and your sports'car will win.
You can't get-up from the blanket and try to perform in the race. Are you kidding me.You will be sleeping and running. I saw that today.Anybody who knows this secret does well in every race and there is consistancy of improvements too.
So every race I ran in the past and broke world record I had to warm-up like someone who is not racing that day.
I'm addicted to it.
Henry
Henry,
I ran for an hour before my races including my marathons. Maybe I should have run more but I often did not run more than 50-65 miles a week including warmup in training.
I also found that I could not take the day before a race off. I had to run to stay loose.
my easy, rest day, the day before a race, was 6 miles in the morning, 6 miles in the afternoon....easy....that was my rest day before a race....within the framework of a 100-120 mile week.
To Orville Atkins,Wrote:

Orville have the same ideas as I am.
For me to stay loose yesterday I was in sauna for 30 minutes + 90 minutes water aerobics weights + 30 minutes whirlpool and so forth.
This morning I warm-up for 81 minutes in the copper hills.
One can look back the day before today, you will understand why my improvements is going well.
Moreover it is what we called training through races.
I'm not in level 5 yet.I'm still in level 2 training.
Some-people do worry about my weights and racing, that is not my problem.Even if I look ugly in the race that is okay with me.
I enter a race. I get what I can get in the race.I don't have to win all.My spirit is to be in the race, that is it.I find other overweight people in the race too, so it is not only me.
So,I have people who are in my company of overweights, but once I start racing.I race myself to shape to the weights I want to be.
