Rupp is going to crush heads in Rio. Dude is in shape!

I don't get it, everyone always complains about the tactical championships and then Rupp breaks away with 63's in the first 5K and then everyone complains that it wasn't a good race?

Head over to the Kenyan Trials thread and look at all the replies saying Kenyans don't run well in the heat, Boston '16, or any number of races.

Some will run well, some won't. Has more to do with what the individual did before the race than what his genes set up for him.

Marty Hehir, 25th or 26th seed, places 7th. lets go Cuse!

Rupp ran amazing--loved the tactics....that dude is so fit it was fun to watch him toy with the field....good run from the Army/ Kenyan dudes!

Ya but Rupp ripped the race wide open in the heat. Ritz would have been lapped unless he let Rupp go early and held back.

Everyone was complaining that they couldn't watch the race.

I don't think people are disappointed with the race, but rather with how poorly Rupp's competition held up. Rupp's race was awesome, but it's kind of a let down that everyone fell off after he made his break. Either way, Rupp seems to be in great shape, so I'm looking forward to seeing him race in Rio.

I've said it a million zillion times, train in as hot weather as possible, you need high blood volume to race in the heat. Even Lagat's cleanass-bald-shaven head wasn't enough to go more than 20 minutes at that temperature. Look out for him in the 5000 though.

I'm in the lead in the prediction contest over whoever didn't pick Galen Rupp to win. I knew Vin Lannana's favorite runner was gonna destroy the field.

Nbc really has to be trying to pi55 off as many distance fans as they can. Nobody can be ignorant enough to think what they just did was the proper way to show a distance race that decided who we were going to send to the Olympics.

If somebody recorded that it would be interesting to see how much race time wise was actually shown. My guess would be under 10 minutes.

(not counting seeing them pass by in the background during shot put coverage)

I think the biggest disappointment today was Roesler. She didn't even looked disappointed during the post-race LRC interview. Maybe she doesn't want to risk getting zika.

2pm over here on the east coast...but more sadly is the TV part. That's the "if we're lucky" since apparently NBC tv broadcast only shows about 1/4 of distance races.

I already miss digital stream commentator guy.
