All the Facebook videos and pics are in the RV or walking. Can we see a few minutes of that 5:30-6 min pace?

Been investigating the quotes and some of them are hilarious.

I see some people maybe wanting to follow him with out being in direct contact via an personal introduction. May be legal where you live, but I would think twice about potential liabilities . It could easily look like stalking and harassing and if an accident happens on your watch, that won't be cool.

It's like he's a religious figure to these people, and LR is calling into question their beliefs - they refuse to accept even the possibility that he's not everything he says he is.

At least now we know that if you want to convince people you're a world-class athlete, it's enough to be a nice guy and have run at one time or another with a bunch of different people. Gonna go make some friends and then claim I've run a 3:30 mile. You haters are just jealous.

I got suspicious of his twitter account because for how many followers he has (15.8k) he gets surprisingly few likes and RT's.

So I put it in an analyzer to see how many are fake. Everyone has fake followers, even with big accounts it's 10-20%. But with Rob it is:

68%!!!

Out of his 15,800 followers, over 10,700 are FAKE.

What does that mean? He bought his followers.

The guys a narcissist and a liar.

I'd love to hear from Lance's dealer...er, I mean, his physiologist, or kinesiologist, or coach, or whatever, to see what kind of dosing it would take to prepare an un-trained body to run 3 marathons in 30-something hours.

I don't think Robert understands the physiology that takes place when the body learns to run 26.2 miles...x3...at breakneck pace.

He's running on public roads, boasting on FB about where he is, and you are suggesting someone has to have a personal intro before following/filming/verifying the truthiness of this scam? He and his crew should also be careful about fundraising and taking in cash for this "run"...

He publicly invited people to join him on Facebook. I think that's enough.

I want to be optimistic about our chances of getting an honest explanation or catching him, but I am not. He knows he's being scrutinized now, so he's going to play it safe and either complete the second half of this thing much slower than the first half and not break the record or he's going to drop out. If he's a chronic narcissist, he will continue to cheat even at the risk of being completely exposed. That's the only scenario that gives us a chance of really catching him.

With that said let's keep this $hit simple Rob. Prove you ran/walked and are running/walking the whole thing. That means continuous video footage. If you don't have that then we must doubt your performance. The OP already has offered their video proof of you not running/walking for at least one section and you haven't even attempted to explain that yet. We will only believe what we see with our eyes, so no need to waste our time with GPS alone, tracking the RV, friends/witness accounts, sob and rags-to-riches stories, pictures and short clips. I just did a simple search and quickly saw a few videos showing complete xc drives. People simply set up a gopro on their car's windshield and captured a complete video of their trip. There is no complication with that. It's 2016 and you obviously have the funds to do this. A GoPro or 2, extra batteries and a car adapter will run you less than $1k. I or anyone on here would sure as hell want the whole thing FULLY documented from beginning to end if we were going for the record. You mean to tell us you are running 2,800 miles to set a 36 year old record and have no way of proving it???

Since I doubt you or your friend(s) are too stupid and didn't think about fully documenting your achievement I'm thinking you're probably cheating. And if you are cheating and have done so in the past, it will come out soon enough and the media reaction will be catastrophic. Just google Mike Rossi and see for yourself what can happen.

I'll even sweeten the pot. Get your crew to buy a Go Pro by this weekend. And if you record the entire rest of the trip with it.

The people in this thread will reimburse you for the cost of the GoPro.

I'm confident that if you record the ENTIRE rest of your trip on it, those in this thread will pitch in to cover the costs as a sign of forgiveness for doubting you.

That doesn't make it any less stupid, but it is indeed real.

Whatever else is going on here, it is clear that this guy has a gift for self-promotion that would make Dean K blush. His book was published by Simon and Schuster and he's gotten a lot of press. I am pretty skeptical about the ESPN reporter that supposedly came to cover the run (see the blog for details)-- why on earth would they fly a camera crew out to eastern Kansas to get footage on a guy may or may not break a record? But the other press coverage and attendant hype is clearly legit. I know I shouldn't be surprised any more by how gullible journalists are re: running any more, but I still am.

Hey Rob, JUST POST THE FRICKIN DATA.

The data is not good enough. That GPS watch can be taking a ride on his wrist or the RV's dashboard. It means nothing without other corroborating data, specifically video.

Not a threat at all. I just don't want to see anyone get hurt . It may be a valid witch hunt but that doesn't mean people can't make mistakes. An RV creeping across the country with a guy running in it, I mean near it , is a bit of a safety issue already. If you are kind of stupid, like stupid enough to still think I am part of the team ,and not making at least a little bit of sense, then maybe you should let other people handle the deal.

IANAL, but it seems like a pretty big stretch to suggest that going out to a public road to watch a very publicly announced event for legitimate purposes is "stalking".

Missouri Revised Statue 565.225.2:

2. A person commits the crime of stalking if he or she purposely, through his or her course of conduct, harasses or follows with the intent of harassing another person.

("Harasses" means "to engage in a course of conduct directed at a specific person that serves no legitimate purpose, that would cause a reasonable person under the circumstances to be frightened, intimidated, or emotionally distressed.")

Illinois (next up):

720 ILCS 5/12-7.3. Stalking. (2011)

(a) A person commits stalking when he or she knowingly engages in a course of conduct directed at a specific person, and he or she knows or should know that this course of conduct would cause a reasonable person to:

(1) fear for his or her safety or the safety of a third person; or

(2) suffer other emotional distress.

(a-3) A person commits stalking when he or she, knowingly and without lawful justification, on at least 2 separate occasions follows another person or places the person under surveillance or any combination thereof and:
