Back to the subject of Sawe: if he was doping, then how the hell did he pass all those extra tests? I don't trust his coach, but it's very hard to pull that off.
The only thing I can think of is a bit far-fetched: coordination with Kenya's airports and cell phone companies to know the locations of the AIU testers. Maybe molidustat could be microdosed most evenings in simulated high-altitude. The molidustat would reduce the time required, and the high-altitude chamber could be shown to the AIU to explain away issues with the biological passport. It would be interesting to see detection time for pegmolesatide, but I can't access the paper.
EPO is too detectable now with the updates. Same with anabolics unless there's something new like "the clear" used by BALCO years ago.
Since only 1% of tests return a positive and yet the incidence of doping is estimated to be even higher than 50% amongst elites and pros your question answers itself. Athletes have long known how to beat the testers. That is what Howman reiterated only this year when he said antidoping is "ineffective".

The moderation of these threads on doping is farcical. This site claims to allow discussion of doping but removes any post that a moderator doesn't like or agree with - which includes criticizing the specious and unrelenting propaganda of doping denial that is posted on these threads. One can say nothing that reflects on the credibility of its chief proponent on this subject. He is protected by the mods for the obvious reason they agree with his doping denial views. Even quoting a figure of the standing in the sport as Sage Canaday on this results in the post being removed.
Because the attitude of calling people out for doping is ridiculous. Why not congratulate people for their performance instead of calling them out? Let's face it: Sawe's marathon was extremely impressive regardless of whether he was doping or not. Either be positive or quit wasting your time spamming stupid posts like these.
Calling people out for doping with no evidence, just speculation. The guy is a bore. Anyone performs well they are doping, because Lance Armstrong was. Great logic.
Is Sabastian Sawe showing that the sport is cleaner than we thought?
No. He isn’t.
Still the best post. Simple, succinct, and true. There really shouldn’t be an argument. Possibly a new campaign has started with Wanyonyi, what with articles and people on boards etc asking if he will take down the 800 record this year. Maybe officials are going to let the Africans run wild with special supplements once again on the track as they do on the roads, in order to put things back where certain forces want them to be.
Better shoes enable you to run faster - doped or not doped.
Most shoes allow you to run faster than barefeet ,,,the barefoot running craze died ages ago.
In my opinion, the reason shoes should not be banned is that they do not provide an external energy source. They don't. They simply allow less energy loss at each footstrike.
Maybe Armstrong belives that there is a motor that flicks the carbon plate at each strike
That is the illusion of those who appear to think the shoes are as good as a machine - or rocket propulsion.

What you don't appear to understand is that doping is a serious problem in the sport and that top athletes are getting away with their doping - this from the former head of WADA. So no performances can be assumed to be dope-free - they could well not be.
If you can recognize there is a doping issue in the sport that problem will be far wider than we can see because it is conducted in secret. Most of it we don't see because it isn't detected. That is why Howman says antidoping is "ineffective".
Sawe has tried to anticipate scepticism about his performance by talking about how often he has been tested, but doping today is far ahead of the testers. He may be clean but he cannot prove it. No athlete can. It always remains possible they aren't.
The implications are huge: it contributes to a dishonest society that extends to other areas of life: cheating in relationships, insider trading, mega churches, etc. I don't mind if they legalize doping or say "we can't enforce the rules," but the illusion of clean sports is damaging to society.
Corruption can be dismissed if you don't personally encounter it or choose not to see it. That is how many approach the issue of doping, which - like most other forms of corruption - is also conducted in secret.

Provide proof
Confidential athlete surveys from global championships.

Not because Lance Armstrong was but because doping is found in every sport today in every country and at all levels.

But not all athletes dope. And yet you accuse every fast performer of doping. You are a bore.

He asked for proof. That is not proof.
It is proof of what I claimed because I said the surveys provided estimates of the proportion of athletes doping at a global level. The estimates ranged from 1 in 3 athletes to more than 1 in 2. But antidoping experts have also made similar independent assessments of the incidence of doping. It can only be estimated because most dopers aren't caught.

I don't accuse every fast athlete of doping but that the chances of their doping in a dirty sport will be high. I realize that the reality of the sport bores you.

You can be glad they allow posts because you repeatedly misunderstand (or misrepresent) the way shoes affect running energy in order to make your points about drugs.
We disagree about what the evidence says the shoes can do. That is why there are threads on the topic - it is a subject of ongoing debate.
You have claimed the shoes wouldn't have offered El G more than a second improvement on his 1500/mile time. No one who understands what drugs do suggests EPO doesn't give more than a second improvement over that distance. Ramzi gained nearly 10 seconds over the 1500 and Katir dropped from 3:36 to 3:28 in a year. That has what drugs can do. Not shoes.
My claim for El G was maybe 1-2 seconds.
Your imagination of suggested improvements come from those who don't know elite performance.
Ramzi changed his coaching and training.
Katir committed whereabouts failures.
As I said, no one who understands what doping can do suggests drugs may only enable the same level of improvement that you say the shoes do, of "1-2 secs" for a top athlete over the 1500.
Your excuses for both Ramzi (changed his "coaching and training" - rubbish - he doped) and Katir (ducked 3 tests because he was doping) show once again you refuse to accept the likely effect drugs had on the performances of those convicted of violations. That is doping denial - and you do nothing else on these threads.

That may be so, but the deletions here are indeed quite weird, including deletions of my harmless posts for being 'factually incorrect' lol. Whatev, I go back to lurking then.

Your negativity isn´t going to get you anywhere in life. Just sayin´.
Try to congratulate people for their performances instead of call them out for things that we cannot even prove.

Runners are basically spokesmodels for big corporations, more or less performers, so look at it like a concert - if the Rolling Stones are on drugs would you still enjoy the show? As to Sawe, he's confident he won't get caught because he's on a truckload of weird peptides which will not be picked up. Running absolutely has at least the same level of doping as cycling. On all levels. Come on guys, old guys are doped to the gills to win age medals. It's comical. Someone like Mantz is most likely to be clean because he's about 5 minutes behind the World Record, flogging himself and is injured regularly.
Nobody pretends that famous musicians aren't using drugs. Although...Gene Simmons said he never used drugs. He just rock n rolled all night and partied every day.

But who are these no ones, and what do they understand what doping can do, and which drugs, and what may they enable, for which events, for which athletes?
How can you be so certain, when you cannot be specific about one single fact?
What do you think I am denying, when everything you say is pure mythology?
