I've seen them a couple times this year. I think they're still legit. They're young and deep but just don't have an elite #1 right now.

Right now, qualifying for NXN seems like a stretch for them. I remember last year they were off to a really slow start, but peaked at Feds although that was not enough to make NXN

They have a big crew that are running right around where Bethlehem’s 4th and 5th girls are. They’re no threat to Shen or Bethlehem this season.
The long-term outlook depends on what happens with the youth running program, which I believe the previous coaches were heavily involved with.
Yeah they haven’t had great invitational’s but this is what happened last xc season for them they had really bad pre season races and then they had some good showings at sectionals specifically top 3. They are currently following that pattern so anything could happen does anyone think there is any hope for Erin M, Reagan O or Cora C?

Last year it was 2 SW teams, 1 CA team, and one MW team on the girls side. So one of them has to not receive it this year for a SE team to go
SW will get two.
I don't see Cali getting one this year, but it could happen if Toro upsets someone in the merge. Also, the merge is stupid. Cali coaches should get together and move the state meet up one week.
The south is better than people thought on the girls side. Perhaps no national title contenders, but the region is deeper this year. Lots of people overlooking Smithson Valley, too. They were close to Flower Mound without their 1. My guess is that the two spots will come from South, SE, or MW but I guess anything can happen. Lots of racing left.
I really don’t think California should get an at-large bid on the boys or girls side this year.
To have an NXR California meet (all best CA teams in one race), they would need to get rid of some time of meet, like CIF section prelims or something

I don't understand how any of the national rankings people come up with their team lists. You can see that several of the programs were hit hard by graduation and also had less than stellar track seasons, yet they're consistently ranked top 10 nationally.
Every single preseason ranking list is waaaaaaaaaaay off just based on these early meets. And I mean not even close.
Seems the Parry girls may have just tempoed the race- Their coach is known for having kids do that when he was at Valor
Ummm… we never tempoed races at valor. Nice excuse. Coaching at chap just isn’t there. Sad to see it happen to these girls. I know how it feels.
