Agree with everything you say here. It’s the same as high schools giving their jobs to those that already work at the school rather then someone more qualified. Preferential treatment when hiring coaches doesn’t serve the athletes and isn’t that the point of having a coach?
I would start off with a sentence of profanity about the absurdity of both these statements...however I am reminded that some people are positioned at a particular spot and think their perspective is the only one that exists and/or matters.
The term identity politics has to be up there with some of the dumbest coined phrases ever! Politics will always use some form of identity to address issues within a society of diverse thought, culture, religion, etc!
This dumb ass phrase has nothing to do with diversity. All these damn cry babies on here spewing “qualifications”. None of your crocodile tears can replace what any administrator or coach has determined exactly what qualifications they are looking for and in which order those qualifications are ranked. As such, if a focal point is encouraging an environment of diversity...so f’n be it! You don’t think some Universities are hiring candidates with certain religious leanings?? Of course some are...any fake moans towards that form of “identity politics”? No! Bc you know that although not exclusive an institution like BYU or Liberty is going to look for candidates whom check THAT qualification box...regardless to what some of you soiled Depends wearing keyboard warriors believe determines the “best or more qualified” coach!
To any hit dog that may holler #StayThirtsyMyFriend because your bigotry has your mouth dried as hell!!!
It's ironic because I have basically been told I have to hire a woman. I do feel it's what is best for our team but I don't think it should be part of the qualification for the job. I would like to hire the best coach and not just the best female coach.
