False. How many boomer coaches are at risk for corona to open jobs. Some ain’t looking too spry. I think job movement starts late April. Once the craziness has died down.

Ohhhh, that's morbid.
Once the craziness has died down......and he funerals have been held.......movement indeed!
Sooooooo.
The season is over. Do coaches get fired and the job carousel begins in March instead of May?
Or do all coaches keep their jobs because now administration doesn’t have “reasons” to fire/non renew?
Discuss.
Yeah serious question: will positions be opening earlier this year due to the outdoor season being cancelled?
And another serious question, will there be as much movement because of the lack of results from an indoor national meet, outdoor conference, and outdoor champs?
There will be very little to no movement amongst the power five.
Because Nationals did not occur and outdoor won't happen there likely will be little movement in this cycle for D1 schools that had athletes qualify for Indoor Nationals. Programs that under-performed (i.e. no one made Nationals so their season was completed) and had poor performances at Indoor conference championships may have some openings.
Movement in D2 ranks for underperforming or coaches seeking to move up or move out will likely occur about the typical rate. D3, as is usual, will be dependent on how well the coaching staff recruits #s for admissions. With coronavirus fears, some students may not want to go too far from home in case this happens again in the future, or the current situation remains unresolved. That may impact typical D3 and NAIA enrollment patterns.

Wait...you people still think athlete success matters to most DI administrations?!
There will still be movement. Some retiring. Others changing professions, some will be fired, and what ever metoo scandal will happen. With more time on their hands coaches will try to weasel around.
The market is going to be flooded with coaches, not job openings. This virus recession will be the nail in the coffin of many universities and athletic departments. Declining enrollment is a huge problem already and the lack of NCAA payouts will cause budget cuts. Everyone knows that most programs are one budget cut away from elimination. Hang on to the job you have and hold on tight.
UNCW made a hire. D2 coach
Who?
Van Lierop
Catawba Jumps Coach
As in Matt Van Lierop?
There are plenty of small private DII schools that are also enrollment driven and Fischer have roster size expectations. It’s not just NAIA and NCAA D3. And very few XC and track college jobs are in jeopardy if you don’t win or have a lot of success! It’s about numbers and no noise!
False
Highly doubt there will be any big job openings to create that domino effect. Unless some of these older HCs retire.
Start the 2021 thread now. This will see no actions in the next 6 months.
There there will not be many openings but there will be a ton of action. You heard it here first. We will see several small private schools in various divisions shut their doors. Schools are going to lose a ton of money when they have to refund room and board for sending everyone home not to mention all the NCAA schools that will not be getting their March madness money this year this leading to budget shortfalls. I expect to see a lot of mid majors cutting sports and men's track is high on that list as we well know. I also see the economic consequences of this affecting kids ability to pay for school. I do not think college sports will exist like it was before. There will be a lot more unemployed coaches but no open positions. I hope I am wrong.
