Looks like Milwaukee found their new part time throws coach. Any news on the other throws openings?
EIU and Villanova both pulled their ads so they must be in the interview process.
UC Davis, FIU, and Standford are still posted among a few other jobs, but the teams are all on campus already or will be soon.
Not to mention all the part time, GA, intern, and volunteer positions that are sought after by all those looking to pay their dues.

Did UMBC hire anyone yet? Looks like they only posted to their school website which makes me think they had someone in mind. Preferred application deadline is August 14th but open until full. I wonder why the old coach left. They did pretty well.

Big East isn't overly competitive in the throws, and wont be overly difficult to pick up points in the throws. Aside from the few at the top, the bottom end is only a matter of getting respectable talent into your program. It looks like Nova is trying to pick up points in the jav and went with someone with the most experience in that department. Foreign or not having a 74m jav thrower on your resume wont hurt.

Yes she is head coach. Head Coach of the entire program. She will just hire a distance coach. Same as when a head coach is a distance coach and hires a jumps, sprints and throws coach. No different to when a head football coach is a defensive guy and he hires a running backs coach or receivers coach.

His top throwers all entered the transfer portal towards the end of the season and left for power 5 schools. It’s been a problem for him the last few years so he decided to leave the program. Gods coach and even better guy. Word has it that Umbc has hired a throws coach but no name has been said yet. Emphasis is on multis coach that can work with throws as well.

So, if a distance coach is the head of a track and field program, should that person be the director of track and field since they can't coach many of the events there? Your logic stinks. She'll hire a distance coach and run the overall program. Or maybe, she's read a book or two on exercise science and can coach other events as well. Quit being such a candyass and give her a chance.
