18-year-old Kumari Taki faded badly so no clean sweep.
Brilliant run from Wightman, just a little heavy legged from the 800m, otherwise he would have taken both Cherryet and Mangogi.
I get the feeling also that the European runners still lack a little self-belief. Had Whiteman stayed a little closer to the Kenyans, he might have won just as Langford would have won the 800m. Perhaps a voice is in their back of their heads in these races, sounding exactly like RekRunner or El Keinaio, telling them that white men can't run?
It must be a bit disconcerting that the Kenyans with a population of 60 million devoted entirely to distance running can no longer claim clean sweeps or even be sure of gold at the Commonwealths. Both Mangogi and Cherryet are in their late twenties, whilst guys like Wightman are still 22 and improving.

No doubt. Wightman has come a long way these last three years. He has that x-factor runners like O'Hare or Gregson lack. Looking at the tactics, Wightman could probably look towards the ingebrigtsens regarding staying close to the lane. Its a tad risky, but at this level every cm you avoid running is important.
