Dartmouth- I personally know more "qualified" coaches who applied for this position, however I believe they were really looking for a young charismatic coach with ties to Ivy League education systems who wouldn't have as sharp of a learning curve identifying athletes who fit the financial package mold there. Time will be the true test of how good of a hire it was but congrats to a young coach moving up.
WSU- The top two are Li and Phipps in that order I believe. Obviously the coaches are being sensitive to their current athletes and weighing their options financially etc..
As for recruiting a class and rebuilding the program- Each of them have a pipeline that can easily move with them to WSU. Whoever gets the job will likely get a free pass on their first year....as per usual when rebuilding.
Li is the only one that needs to weigh his options. He's the one that has a legitimate program to lose with a semi decent paycheck. WSU would be a huge step up for Phipps. Either of these guys will bring in a bunch of international athletes, exactly what John Chaplin wants.

Any throws positions opening?
Just wondering who the hot shot young coaches are this year who are ready to make the big moves. Most are just assistants now and will likely jump ship to head up big one-gender distance programs. Any good young coaches at the D2 or mid major level who could make the transition to the big time?

You can add an assistant coaching position at Southern Cal to the list. Not sure which coaching position it is. But their new head coach is looking to replace someone after this year is over with.

Eastern New Mexico job has already been filled with two co-head coaches. Melinda Bendik Liberty Graduate and Danielle Kcholi Eastern New Mexico Graduate. Split down the Middle Head XC and other head TF.
Does Anyone Know of any assistant Multi event positions that may be opening up? Possibly looking for Volunteer position if it is the right place. But preferrably part time. 5 years multi experience under Kip Janvrin.
