It wasn’t US taxpayer money it was a South Korean payment to Iran that was seized as part of a sanction effort. Regardless, it was money that was supposed to be for humanitarian purposes. All that means is money Iran already had earmarked for those purposes could be shifted to funding Hamas. Iran gives Hamas and their ilk about $100 million a year that we know about. On a global perspective, however, we have to look at how this may be an effort by the BRICs to start broader conflicts across the globe and spread US interests too far afield and setup a Chinese invasion of Taiwan or an expansion of the Russian campaign. Regardless, it’s all taking place while there is weak leadership in the US.
