Actually the accusation is that he overstated the value of his holdings.
How did this save him millions in taxes?
Oh THAT crime... too many to keep track of.
He defrauded everyone he did real estate business with along with his insurance providers. He gained preferential loan terms resulting in lower revenue for those banks, paid lower premiums which should have been income for those insurance companies. Those companies pay taxes which are calculated based on their P&L, so he ultimately defrauded the public also with the decrease in tax revenue. He made a ton of money by scamming those partners AND claimed those real estate assets were worth very little on his taxes, thereby defrauding the public further. He committed fraud left and right with these arrangements. And let's not forget he increased systemic financial risk by pretending to be a high quality credit worthy client. This fraudster is criminal scum through and through and here you are still defending him fiercely. Get your head out of his a$.
So the Banks did no due diligence before making the loans?
Why aren't those banks suing him?
You are saying his annual statements (P+L) to the IRS were fraudulent? Can you provide any sources that claim this is part of this trial?
It would be like if they issued a search warrant for your house for drugs and when they searched your home they didn’t find any drugs, but did find that you had a large amount of undeclared tip income from your job as a waiter, and they decided to charge you for the undeclared tip income.
Not declaring all your income is, you know, a crime.

what's fun with guys like our Joe is that every time Trump gets caught, Joe and other right wingers have to resort to saying 'we all cheat and steal and lie - don't punish Trump for what we all do!'
and of course the Dems are saying 'huh? you all regularly steal lie and cheat on your taxes?'

A recent Economist/YouGov poll showed that more Republican rank-and-file say they want their representatives to stand on principle “no matter what” than say they would rather they compromise to get things done. That is a recipe for stalemate and disappointment, and so theatrics become attractive. Democrats, by 3-1, said they favor compromise to get things done.

Imagine being this much of a bootlicker.
Ppl should pay taxes but I draw the line at breaking into poor ppl's homes to look for undeclared tipped income.
If government searched your home they could probably find crimes too. The average American commits 3 felonies everyday. Government thrives on making EVERYONE a criminal and then selectively enforcing the law on their preferred targets.
Now I'm not a lolyer/judge, but such evidence would be inadmissible in court. It's not relevant to the warrant.

That's the key here.
If he defaulted on a loan and the bank wanted to go back and sue him, that would be one thing. It would still be their fault imo, but at least there's a victim.
These laws aren't intended for the government to come back years later and investigate a mutually beneficial transaction that took place. By a judge who PROMISED to go on a fishing expedition to get Trump to get nominated/elected.

we will see what DB thinks. By then you will have found other excuses for trump's fraudulent conduct.
The Trump family’s longtime banker and Donald Trump himself are set to take the witness stand in his upcoming civil fraud trial in New York, where the former president is accused of exaggerating the value of his assets by billions of dollars for a decade to dupe lenders and insurers. Three current and three former employees of Deutsche Bank AG, which arranged hundreds of millions of dollars in loans to Trump, appeared on a list of witnesses filed with the court by New York Attorney General Letitia James

How is it mutually beneficial when his lying resulted in less revenue and relatively higher risk for the banks and insurers? You are nuts. He committed fraud, doesn't matter if the banks or others don't sue him, he still broke the law and the government can get him. Hang this criminal higher.

They will keep adjusting their excuses to cover him, no matter what... he said it himself that he could shoot someone on 5th Ave...

Frankly he dug his grave when he showed up to Mar a Lardo to suck up to trump after his loss.
What I'm talking about is more immediate: it sounds like yesterday the Dems in congress were open to some kind of deal with McC, but instead McC lashed out at the Dems in illogical and unfair ways in public. So the dems had no reason to vote for McC to stay in the chair.
McC burned too many bridges. We all knew he was a deviant liar and not to be trusted...over the past few months McC proved us right.
Yeah that was odd when he ranted about the Ds, lolz... he agreed to be in a weakened position to appease the pro wrestlers. He wanted to be speaker at all costs, and that's the price he paid. This self implosion has nothing to do with the Ds.

anyone who tries to defend trump gets his head slammed in the door. Trump is a living walking tax fraud.
2018:
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Times reported Tuesday that President Donald Trump received at least $413 million from his father over the decades, much of that through dubious tax dodges, including outright fraud. The 15,000-word Times report contradicts Trump’s portrayal of himself as a self-made billionaire who started with just a $1 million loan from his father. The Times says Trump and his father, Fred, avoided gift and inheritance taxes by setting up a sham corporation and undervaluing assets to tax authorities. The Times says its report is based on more than 100,000 pages of financial documents, including confidential tax returns from the father and his companies.
That’s not what this case is about. But to be fair, take a look at how Feinstein, Pelosi or the Kennedy’s got their wealth. Democrats are just as bad. Look at how left wing activist Linda McCartney handled her estate.

None of those Dems stole their money like Trump did. Well maybe the Kennedys. They were sketch as heck yeah. A century ago.
