I’ve been thinking about all the actions that the freedom caucus (aka Trump surrogates and boot lickers) has taken over the last 3 years to try to shut down our functioning government. Too many to list. Defund the FBi, CIA, DEA, Immigration. Shut down the economy repeatedly with no actual reason why except that they want chaos and suffering. Abolish the IRS and The NEA. Shut down Military appointments.
It’s too simplistic to just say, they want Biden to look bad to get Trump into office. That it’s just politics. I think it is much more nefarious. If you look at history, every time a government failed people in the right places became obscenely wealthy. I believe this is the end game for these that are actively rooting for and causing chaos and trying to make our institutions fail.

the freedom caucus want to burn it all down and start over. that's where they're at. If they can't run the federal government via minority rule, they don't want the country to have a federal government. So the are trying to strangle the federal gummint until it either dies or a J6-style revolution happens and they and their well-armed followers can take over the country and restore it to some right wing utopia like Hungary or Poland.
Point is, they have lost faith in democracy and the idea of a republic and want to run it via some sort of right wing junta. They hate the urbans so much that they don't want to live under the same government as the urbans. They are done. These people *defend* J6. That's all you need to know.
The freedom caucus Rs don't *feel* anything.. they don't actually care at all. Put simply, they are bought off thugs (and it's confirmed that many have taken Russian money) who are grabbing as much as possible for themselves without any regard for the consequences.
Also note that the GOP suffered a massive loss this weekend - they failed at getting anything they wanted into the budget. The House passed a Democratic continuing resolution, not a GOP one. All the promises of slashing help to american families...not happening.

So what do the Dems do this week when the House votes to kick out McC or not? The usual path would be for every D to vote no to McC....but maybe in this case there is an argument for the Ds to extract concessions from McC and then support him.
Dems in general want bipartisan legislation. They are in DC to govern and pass bills and help Americans, not just obstruct and say no to everything. Dems also want to sideline the freedumb caucus.
I'm not predicting some kind of power sharing solution here but sure would be great if it happened. Imagine having the middle 70% of the House shake hands and say 'you know what - we can pass bipartisan legislation and just push aside the squad and the freedom caucus.
That said, most likely the Ds will all vote against McC and the House will be thrown into chaos week after week as the freedumb caucus tries to burn it all down again.
