You have issues, Barackus. You seem obsessed with the ridiculous notion that that Nordic countries have a higher sense of morals that the third world and even Southern Europeans. Yet the one major sport seen to be dirtier than athletics dopingwise is the all-white sport of cycling. Where are the African or third world riders driving up those stats? What kind of poverty drove Lance Armstrong to levels of sociopathy unprecedented in sport?
Judging by your posts, I think we can safely infer you're Danish (or Scandinavian, at least). Since you're so keen on spreading negative stereotypes about other countries (including your, frankly, bewildering comment about Spain and Italy) how would you feel if we went on about Nordic countries and their inhabitants being cold, soulless, uninteresting, dull, regimented, lacking in individuality or creativity? That you like quoting an index that claims you're the happiest countries on earth, using ridiculous indicators like fast internet, when in reality, people know that real happiness is a result of intangibles you can't quantity like that? Do you honestly believe that Scandinavians, typically cold, unsmiling and unfriendly to strangers, laden with notoriously high suicide rates and alcoholism, having to eat that bland cuisine and endure that weather, are happier than some poor fisherman on a Caribbean or Brazilian beach whose only concern is the price of his catch that day? Please.[/quote]
Again you misunderstand on purpose. Probably to steer the conversation in some other direction. I have only mentioned Nordic nations twice, if thats obsessed...The danish athlete was just an example. Why did I choose danish? Not because I am danish, but because its fairly certain that a danish athlete wouldn't have to succeed in sports to live a good life (free education, good health care, good prospects of jobs etc compared to say a kenyan or spanish athlete).
So, taking your talk about cycling. Are you so clueless that you dont know that one of the major doping nations within cycling is Spain? Ever heard of Operacion Puerto? Spain has been a dirty nation for many years, common knowledge. Do they have lower morale than the danes? Perhaps. Probably. Why? Who knows. Is that my point? No.
Theres obviously not equally good morals in every nation on earth. The reasons differ and are frankly not that interesting as its not part of my argument. My point is, as you always manage to "forget": Poor athletes have more incentive to cheat, just look at what Shaheen was able to complish in where he came from. A danish athlete would not have the same impact at home, and would probably keep most of his money for himself too. Wow, did I just stereotype danes to be egotistical maniiiiaaacs? Get yourself together kenian.

What negative stereotypes? That they are nation with long history of cheating? Hmm ok. Do you disagree?

I wouldn't feel much, from what I gather thats pretty standard stereotypes for people in all cold nations. Pretty standard, all nations have their stereotypes and many of them fit to a certain degree. If you'ever seen the picture of a finnish buss stop where everyone is standing 5m apart. Thats their culture, and I doubt they would protest against being less "warm" than say Cubans.
So the Nordic countries are the happiest countries on earth according to an index. Are the people in these nations walking about quoting this? I wouldn't be surprised if their newpsaper wrote about it. Its great news after all, but I doubt their people walk around talking about it particularly much. Each nation have their advantages, some more than others. Do you disagree? Are you saying Kenyans are more happy than Brits, italians, Brazilians or Swedes?
Questions for you Keniano:
- Do you disagree that being poor is an incentive to cheat to gain success (money, way out of being poor, being able to help friends and relatives and avoid poor health for you and your family)?
- Do you disagree with the notion that different countries have different set of morals and culture regarding doping? Do you think we are all 100% equal?
