Did you know a small little guy named Phillip Ndoo? He ran with Mike Boit at Eastern New Mexico U. in the early-mid 70's. He was primarily a steeplechaser. I raced against him a bunch of times in NAIA meets and in cross country. He was a nice guy.

Uhhhh, Skuj, it's John Chaplin's bio, not Henry Rono's bio.
Can you imagine a bio of Stampfl with no mention of Bannister? A bio of Wilson with no mention of Ovett? Etc. I would have thought that at least a mention of Rono would complete any short bio of Chaplin.
Henry, I do not know how to link / paste / get those excellent pictures to letsrun. Perhaps someone here has more expertise in this area and can help?
Sorry Henry...
Upload pics to www.tinypic.com and post the link that it provides you.
Thanks Adam. I'm on Night Shift right now, Henry. I'll try this in the late morning.

To Braavo Furgi,
The 80 day training phase II,I was feeling much better than yesterday.my body was up not crawling so to speak.I ran along tramway for 132 minutes pus 22 minutes for this morning.
I\'m working on those images from Oslo trying to put CD disck, while I\'m waiting from Norway for original photos.
They asked the date of that race.I can\'t find or read it.Can anyone read me the date on this race in Oslo? I\'m sure it was in June 1982.But they want to know exactly the date.

Was this the date: 7 July 1982? That's the date of the Bislett Games when Ray Flynn set an Irish record mile of 3:49.77.
26.6.1982 Bislett Games, good job I have a diary. Carlos Lopez won in 27.24
Adrian
7.7.82 was the Oslo Games where Moorcroft ran his 5000WR
In between the 2 meets Henry and I ran in Budapest and I ran in Byrkjelo (Norway)
To born to be a bum,
Adrian, thank you,
Yes, this is dates I was looking for:June 26,1982,June 27,1978,September 13,1981
These are important races in Oslo I was searching for,now they will find the photos easily in Scanpix library.
Henry
Henry, I was wondering if you could recall your thoughts during the 13:06 race in 1981. That may seem like a strange request, but looking back on all my best, yet very unworldrecordlike races, I remember certain thoughts. It would be exciting to hear about your "comeback" world record race from this perspective. :)
To Skuj
The spring of 1981,when I arrived WSU to finish my degree,I didn't want to run for WSU.I decided to to work to dedicate my life in education. While I was taking more than 20 hours that spring,I didn't turn my head into running at all.
I ran for WSU for one or two meets as if I was going to run for them, when my classes was fully paid by WSU,I stop running for them and I said to my self,it is turn now and not WSU. Chaplin try to rise hell, and all the threats he has in his motor mouth didn't work,I ignored him.
After I graduated in June of 1981,that was when I began training,I had bigger belly by then.So my training began from June through september 13,1981, it was a world record,13:06.
I can narrate the story along the way and how I encountered with meet directors in Europe, when I asked for assisstancy,Chaplin had already told the world nasty things about me.
The meet director who help me was in Turku,Finland;however,I ran the 5k with my big O belly I was lapped two times in this race.I ran 15:59 and the winner was 13:30
I began my training in Germany and Oslo that summer.I was going through the same rituals of feelings that I'm going now and sleeping most of the time, but my body was faster then than now.You willread these info in the Olympic Dream.

Hey Henry
For me it is a miracle that you can run for many houres aday with a 200 IBS body without injuries.
You speak about lubricating the joints how do you do that?
The joints often get injured when running a lot becusae they are stiff and dry how do you manage to keep them smooth?
Thank you good luck with the record.

That's why the advantage of someone like me,who some much weights, when you remove these weights. You have a bigger room to play with. You have to turn weights into oil for lubrications. You have up to crank it alot harder and I do by putting in 2 hours every time I run.
I did it in 1981 and 1986,why not now at this age.Yes it is a miracle and I agree with you.
I know my description sound very weird, but it works,If your body allows you to move for that long, all you have to do is just sit back and watch the show, so to say.It is funny,I know, but the wheels are rolling and you are at the back seat be patient, you will get where you are going.
This is what I do now-days.Just watch and do it.I record every thing I do and letsrun.com is the motivator. Please edited to make sense for you.

Henry: quit messing around with your weight....start losing at a faster pace. It seems like you have been around 200 lbs for a month or more. Stop eating so much. I am concerned for your knees and want to see you complete this journey, successfully, running in top Masters meets next summer. But you won't get there if your aging body fall prey to injuries.
