I have no doubt she’ll break 4 minutes for the 1500, 8:45 for the 3000 and 15 minutes for the 5000 some day…
Touhy will probably break 15 minutes in the 5k.
But going sub 4 in the 1500 is really hard, and you need really good foot speed, and Touhy doesn't have the foot speed of the top 1500 runners. I don't see her going sub 4.
Amazing that she seems to have gotten so good at losing.
I get that you’re the trolling contrarian for attention but her times and placings, especially during this sophomore year, have been incredibly impressive. She may not own an individual title yet, but this is an amazing talent for a 19 year old American.

well if not for losing, tuohy would have never improved this much
also, quite funny of you to say that when tuohy just ran her first ever national track championships this year, and she ran impressively against top competition and ncaa champions..and you brainwash people that shes good at losing when in fact shes actually setting herself up for national titles in the years to come
and you don't consider the fact that she has about 7 national track championships and 3 national cross country championships ahead .. plenty of time.
courtney wayment was a senior when she started winning titles, chelengat and roe were juniors when they won their first title, elly henes was a graduate senior when she won her title
katelyn tuohy is a sophomore and just turned 20, and has running eligibility until 2025 and already running 15:14 // 8:54 // 4:09

I didn’t say this year…someday. She learned how to develop a kick this year. In her case it’s a matter of specific focus…she ran a final 31s final 200m in her last indoor championship race. I would say that’s as good a kick as is needed, while she improves in this area. She’ll need to find a sub 30s final 200 to run down most elite runners. I’m sure her coaches will find useful techniques to help her get there. She has the rep of out working her competition.

breaking 4 in the 1500m is the tallest order indeed, 1500m is another ballgame, you have to be a specialized miler or have 800m speed to do that, but katelyn tuohy is special, we'll see how she progresses on that distance, she seemed to like 1500m too!
There are high school girls coming who are faster than her. There are foreigners coming who are faster than her. There are college women who will improve more than her. She may win a championship but predicting 10 is ridiculous. You will have every excuse for her when it doesn't happen but you won't admit that you just blew it with an outlandish prediction. Even the non-Tuohy predictions aren't this extreme.
She didn't better her PR. Many elite 400 meter runners have posted splits 1 second faster than their PR. The split is only a split. It is a running start.

are you kidding me?? you have hard time comprehending or sum??
read this again " well if not for losing, tuohy would have never improved this much also, quite funny of you to say that when tuohy just ran her first ever national track championships this year, and she ran impressively against top competition and ncaa champions..and you brainwash people that shes good at losing when in fact shes actually setting herself up for national titles in the years to come

now did that paragraph imply that shes gonna win 10 championships??? or did it imply that she has 10 championships ahead to get at least 1 title??
man you kept on missing the point, pls read it carefully, also heres how i calculated the 10 championships ahead ... assuming she makes it all to them

I read her comment as Tuohy has that many championship races ahead ahead of her and the math works if she uses all eligibility - 2 indoors (DMR or 5000 and 3000) for 3 years, 3 XC and 3 Outdoors. Pretty unlikely she would win all 10 though!

so be it, you calll it that .. and some will mostly call it as an unofficial PR
4:09 is a personal record for her, she ran faster than her previous 4:12 .. and thats a new personal record for her, even if it doesnt show on the 1500m list on tfrrs, she cut down 3 seconds off her PR, it is what it is.
KT is a real phenom but in this race she ran ~4:11. LG made the exchange w KG at ~12:42. If we assume 2 secs between that exchange and the one btwn SS and KT (12:44…a reasonable assumption because we can see Shaw’s head a few secs before she passes the orange cone on the right), that’s roughly 4:11 and change to finish at 16:55.19.

I agree with your logic but I don't think the reported splits were done at the right places, for example look at the pass from Bush to Shaw. If Gear ran 4:12 it was for 1510 meters imho.
