Congratulations to anyone who feels better about the outcomes of last night's elections. If you are suffering under Trump, you surely feel relieved right now. And that is a good thing.
Two observations. First, the elections were widely viewed as a referendum on Trump. If you take away the man himself and adopt a broader view, there is an interesting pattern afoot: people don't vote for candidates anymore. They vote against the other candidate. I think this has been the case since 2016.
Second, the polls were off. Dems were favored to win every race (with the exception of Attorney General in VA), but NJ Governor race was supposed to be much tighter than the eventual outcome. This has also been the case since 2016.
So what happened?
Is America getting tired of having a broken and deteriorating man-child that everyone know is a pathological liar running the country? Who knows?
But, true to form, Trump responds like an angry 3rd grader and demands the Senate Squash the filibuster and pass voter reform. That's right. In Trump's broken brain, every election he loses is rigged. And he must change the system immediately to allow him to win. This comes after his white house spokesman said California elections are rigged. With no evidence. This is after Trump tried to send poll watchers to intimidate voters in California. We will see Trump cry more and more about voter reform. Voter reform means I need help more help winning and if you idiot lawmakers don't help me there will be hell to pay.
Are American's waking up to Trump's "rigged" election insanity?
I know that I'm preaching to the choir, but nonetheless, I recommend that stop judging Trump any more favorably than he deserves. His brain is not "broken" about elections. He's a cheater, a liar, and a criminal. He doesn't believe it any more than you do. He's a cheater, a liar, and a criminal. They do that stuff. It's pretend. They're "broken" about caring about good and bad. They are not, generally speaking, "broken" in their ability to see reality.

Trump haters (i.e., Dems-Plus) might be getting a little too excited about last night's results. Someone who didn't know which elections were happening might think that the balance Congress has tipped even one person, in either chamber. Of course, it did not.
Does it MAYBE bode well for next year? Sure. Of course, a year is a long time. Both in normal political times, and with a president and party who will do their best to tip next year's elections in unprecedented and/or illegal ways.
Say, tariffs get overturned, and the economy doesn't do too bad. Maybe Trump even backs off a LITTLE on some of his more unpopular actions. Rather easy to see dumb-a** America come out much bigger numbers in Nov '26 than they did yesterday, and there's no blue wave.
I'm happy about last night. But it's a far, far cry from making me much more optimistic about the future of America.

Typical lame duck presidents would still care about delivering to their party and the country. Trump does not. No matter how bad things get under his administration, he knows he’s not going to prison and that’s all that matters.

Yes. This is true.
Trump knows 100% that he lost the 2020 election. The evidence is plenty. Including him asking his DOJ to “just say” they were investigating election fraud. Thats all he needed to propel his lie into truth. It got to the point that the entire DOJ senior leadership was going to resign if he appointed Jeffrey Clark. Who was going to write such a fake letter.
So all of Trumps thousand of electrons fraud claims are indeed lies . He is a lifelong cheater and fraudster.
That being said, Some people believe that Trump has told these lies so many times that he could pass a lie detector test on them. His brain has morphed them into truth.
Are you this stupid or are you a troll? Both are bad, but I guess I hope you are this stupid because trolls are evil. stupid is just what God gave you, not your fault.

Who is the name of Christ is Sunday Pinchoi?
Vice President Cheney had no respect for you people. He considered you fake conservatives and he had significant factual support for that opinion. And when I say "no respect," I really do mean none. He thought your ilkhood was a pathetic joke being played on the conservative movement in America.
Trump still believes you need an ID to buy groceries. Again, the scary part of this is not that Trump is a laughable idiot. It is that everyone is afraid to correct him. Whatever Trump gets into his brain is Truth and will become policy he acts on. But, you have to be an imbecile to not see where Trump is going with this. He is scared of the midterms and preparing to make sure he wins. Putin style.
Trump: "All we want is voter ID. You go to a grocery store, you have to give ID. You go to a gas station, you give ID. But for voting they want no voter ID. It's only for one reason: because they cheat."

I don't present ID when buying anything online. My credits haven't been looked at for signature matching in decades.
Trump doesn't buy groceries, he takes food from his businesses, and claims that food as unpaid loss. He doesn't carry a wallet, so he has no ID to present to anyone if demanded to do so. Heck, he likely hasn't driven a car since he was in his 20s.

You need an ID to buy alcohol, buy a gun, car, etc, yet we can’t mandate one to vote? Voter ID is very popular and for good reason
He voted by mail in Tuesday's Florida primaries but avoided the Postal Service, instead opting to give his ballot to a third party to turn in, a practice Republicans call "ballot harvesting."

60% each -- favor automatic voter registration, whereby citizens are registered when they do business with state agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles, and sending absentee ballot applications to all eligible voters. In contrast, majorities of Americans oppose removing people from voter registration lists if they haven’t voted in any elections in five years (64%) and [oppose] limiting the number of drop boxes or locations for returning absentee ballots (58%).
Where is Election fraud? 1) Donald Trump himself paid THREE separate firms to prove nationwide voter fraud, and found NONE. 2) Fox News, thank to @TuckerCarlson, had to pay out $787.5 million for pushing Donald Trump's election LIES. 3) Rudy Giuliani had to pay $148 million for pushing Donald Trump's election LIES. 4) A Federal Judge in February 2024, ordered MyPillow conspiracy theorists @realMikeLindell to pay A TRUMP SUPPORTER $5 million after said Trump supporter proved Mike Lindell's voter fraud wrong. 5) In February 2024, conservative group True the Vote - who helped @DineshDSouza produce the content and the video 2000 Mules - told a court that it did NOT have evidence to support its allegations of voter fraud nor of ballot stuffing. 6) In May 2024, Salem Media Group, the company behind @DineshDSouza thoroughly discredited and debunked "2000 Mules," has pulled BOTH the film and the book from its platforms and has apologized to Mark Andrews, a Georgia man who filed a defamation suit after the film falsely depicted him as engaging in voter fraud. Salem Media Group stated, "We have removed the film from Salem’s platforms, and there will be no future distribution of the film or the book by Salem." 7) On September 4, 2024, Conservative election denier, Joe Oltmann, was ordered by a Judge to pay $1,000 A DAY to former Dominion Voting Systems Eric Coomer — for as long as he continues to withhold evidence of THREE election fraud claims he made against Coomer in court.
How’s everyone feeling after last night? Wild the average American voter isn’t impacted by such incredible points being made in this thread by scholars like FroggyFolsom and **********Drumpf2058!

I think Trump is the greatest enemy this nation has ever had.
That said, I also think that required showing of ID to vote is a good idea. I suspect most Dems don't have a serious problem with showing ID.
The problem, of course, is the rednecks in red states who will absolutely immediately use any new rules to make it very very hard for black people to vote. Those people are the problem.
