Carjackings are the crime of choice in Minneapolis. My sources say the city just has a special affinity for car jackings. Minneapolis, of course, is the place where city leaders tell you that calling 911 "comes from a place of privilege."

Meanwhile, Mpls murders are down 33% from last year, and violent crime in most US cities is also falling like a rock.

Give the Dems a problem and they fix it.

There really aren't any reasonable pro-Democrat arguments that address the situation in Minneapolis over the last 3 years. The out of context statistic you cited would not be a reasonable pro-Democrat argument reflecting successes, primarily because it isn't a success and there are no recent successes or progress in Minneapolis. I can't think of another city in the US that has ever suffered such a significant degradation in business climate and quality of life resulting from terrible political leadership as Minneapolis in the 2020s. Maybe Phoenix in the 2000s or Detroit in the 1950s.

Anyway, on the more fun side of things, Sathanandan's decision to publicize the karma-infused attack on her has provided segments of America with an abundance of cheap jibes. Will the four black men that, in an irony of ironies, Sathanandan now wants the Minneapolis police to specifically seek out and "HOLD IN CUSTODY AND PROSECUTE THEM" be bailed out of jail by Vice President Kamala Harris? Can Sathanandan's privileged white neighbors be forgiven for utilizing 911 in this instance? Should the Minneapolis police that Sathanandan insists should arrest and jail four black men wait until after their department has been dismantled or go ahead and arrest them now while they still have jobs? These are the memes that will be developed in the coming days.

If homicide goes up 60% in one year, stays at that level for 7 years, and then decreases by about 10% is that a success?

That’s exactly what happened in Baltimore. Similarly, homicide in Chicago jumped by between 50-60% and now is decreasing by 10%. look at the numbers before and after.

And also, isn’t it an “equity” issue? The people disproportionately affected by the rise in homicides are black, just as the people committing them. Do Black Lives Matter in Chicago?
