You're the one using a qualifier by focusing on 3 point shooting and ignoring the other types of shots.
10-16 feet: Jordan much better 16 feet - 3pt: Jordan much better 3 pt: LeBron slightly better Free throws: Jordan much better
Anyone looking at that objectively would conclude Jordan was the better overall shooter.
Qualifier engaged again.
Lebron better at 3 of the 5 distances and the one that defines a better shooter - 3pters. And that’s even with Jordan taking “available” 3s and Lebron just jacking them up. lol. Lebron higher fg%, higher effective fg%, higher tos% and the most commonly used metric to define better shooters-3pt fg%. Man, Jordan was even terrible at shooting layups. lol.
No question LeBron is the better shooter.
Next thing you know you’ll be saying Jordan is the better passer.
Looks like I need to teach another basketball lesson. Here we go.
The best metrics available from Basketball Reference to evaluate shooting skill are the ones I've provided.
Field goal percentage from 0-3 feet is mostly a function of size. Bigger/taller players tend to have higher percentages close to the basket.
Field goal percentage from 3 to 10 feet can be highly volatile. For example, look at LeBron's annual FG percentages in this zone from the 2012-2013 season to the 2019-2020 season:
49.4% 55.4% 41.3% 36.1% 38.5% 37.8% 29.7% 40.9%
Lot of fluctuation there.
Because of the volatile nature of the 3 to 10 feet range, having only four seasons of data from Jordan's career isn't enough to form conclusions. In just those four seasons, there is a lot of variation. He has a range of 29.7% to 47.6%. Without the data from his first 11 seasons, we cannot make a good comparison in that category. We just don't have enough information.
However, we do have enough information to know that Jordan was a much better mid range shooter and a much better free throw shooter. LeBron was a slightly better 3 point shooter.
We also know that Jordan has made the most clutch shots in the game: giving his team the tie or lead in a one-possession NBA Finals game with 24 seconds or less. He's done it 4 times. LeBron has never made such a shot.
If you need someone to hit a championship-winning shot, Jordan is The Man (remember, he did it in college too). If you want someone to stand idly by while his teammate makes the championship-winning shot, LeBron's your guy.
LeBron is bigger than Jordan. A larger proportion of his FG attempts have come close to the basket.
Yes. A whopping 18 inches on average. About the length of one of their shoes. lol. You fail again.
And you are correct. Lebron is bigger, faster, more athletic, stronger, more skilled and a better shooter.
Combining height and weight, there is a significant size difference between them.
They are/were equally athletic. LeBron is bigger and stronger. Jordan was quicker, had better body control, and had a better motor. Jordan was a better two-way player and a better shooter.
LeBron shoots better from 3 than Jordan. Has a higher TS%, higher fg% and higher effective fg% and one person thinks Jordan is a better shooter? lol. And on top of that admited that Jordan took “available” 3s (which should be a higher percentage shot for good shooters) while LeBron just jacked up bad 3s. Despite taking worse shots, LeBron still shoots better than Jordan.
Qualifier incoming in 3…2…1…. lol. “We can’t count this from Jordan…we can’t look at these years from Jordan….” Too many excuses to try to compare Jordan to the GOAT. LeGoat surpasses Jordan every time.

ZERO qualifier language there. Pure stats. And you have no rational retort, per usual.
LBJ shoots UNDER 38% from ANY DISTANCE 10 feet or more from the rim!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
HAHAHAHA- completely absurd take to say he’s a better shooter!! MJ is 45% from 10-23 ft!!
AAAAND he shoots 73% from the line??!! Yeah-that’s great!! LOLOLOL!!
Watch the video of “top 30 dunks.” Obviously there are other cool dunks from both.
Notice a pattern? Hardly ANY of LBJ’s dunks are contested, and NONE of them are directly over a good “big man” attempting to block the shot (I can’t name any of the ones that actually did try).
MJ on the other hand, has dunks directly over Ewing, Mourning, Mutumbo, Barkley, Oakley, Rollins, Woolridge, Sikma (7’4”), JB Carroll, etc.
Seriously count how many of LBJ’s dunks are contested. Hardly ever. It’s either a guy standing with his hands down, or a little white dude- it’s hilarious. He comes down and flexes in front of… NO ONE!! LOL!! Such a joke.

Great compilation of MJ taking it to the big men. Many Hall of Famers in this list.
Look how much more physical the game was back then. Fouled on nearly every drive on way or another. You EARNED those points in the paint. No open lanes to just start running from the 3 pt line to the rim like in today’s game- LOL
Here’s an entire compilation of “posterizing dunks” from LBJ. NAME ONE quality big man that he dunks directly over that was going for the block.
There are only about three (3) that I’d say even qualify, and I’m not sure who the guys are. Any Hall of Famers? LOL! Do big men even try to stop people driving nowadays?? Or are all the 7’0”+ “centers” and power forwards hanging out around the 3 point line for some idiotic reason. I mean, how TF is the paint always so wide open now??

A sophisticated analyst who knows the game understands that not all data points should be factored equally. Some data points are more relevant than others. It's clear you don't have that understanding, which is why I've been trying to teach you.
Rudy Gobert led the NBA this season in FG%, Effective FG%, and had a higher TS% than Curry and Durant. That doesn't mean Gobert is the best shooter in the association.

A sophisticated analyst knows that Jordan took too many inefficient shots. If he had a better basketball IQ and took better shots, he may have been the GOAT.

How was his 3pt shooting? A good measure of one’s ability to shoot. Or did he not practice those, so it doesn’t count. lol.
A sophisticated analyst knows that Jordan took too many inefficient shots. If he had a better basketball IQ and took better shots, he may have been the GOAT.
A sophisticated analyst knows it was a different era. Jordan's shot selection must have been alright considering he led the league in scoring 10 times, won MVP 5 times, and won 6 championships with 6 Finals MVPs.
The nba has become an embarrassment. I certainly don't watch but have seen a couple shorts recently of this player for oklahoma who Flops, a lot. Good God. Lebron is a bit of a Flopper no? No sir, you can't Trademark Taco Tuesday.

He did. But that doesn’t change that he wasn’t as good a shooter as Lebron. Maybe he should have practiced more. lol.

The point that you seem to be missing is FG%, Effective FG%, and TS% are not good indicators of shooting ability. The guys who lead these categories tend to be bigger men who take a lot of field goals close to the basket. Unless you think Rudy Gobert is one of the best shooters in the NBA, you shouldn't use those categories in your argument.
Jordan’s inability to sustain his greatness over a long period of time just can’t earn him the GOAT status.
A GOAT has to attain greatness and then sustain it. Like LeBron has. Jordan was like a firework. Showed greatness for a short period and then just faded away.

As I already explained to you, Jordan was the better shooter overall. And the better player overall.

Jordan sustained his greatness long enough to win more scoring titles, more MVP awards, more championships, and more Finals MVPs than LeBron. Maybe LeBron can catch up if he plays until he's 50? lol

How about 3pt%. You seem to dodge that one constantly. Or that the average difference in distance that Jordan and LeBron took shots is only 18 inches.
Lebron has a better effective fg%, better TS%, better fg%, better 2pt fg% and better 3pt%. And he didn’t take a high percentage of ineffective shots like Jordan.
He has a better 3pt% even though he jacks up 3pters and Jordan only took wide open available 3s. Lol. You would think a good shooter would knock down a high percentage of 3s when most of them are wide open.
You can keep trying to spin it, but it’s obvious LeBron is the better shooter.
