The amount of leeway she gets because she is a 37 year old woman is astounding. If Rupp had criticized her after the race he would have been destroyed by the media.
All she had to do when asked about Rupp and Salazar was say "No comment. Today is not the day to discuss it."
It was one of several examples of her using her female emotions to turn the spotlight on herself again, similar to when she bawled her eyes out before finishing NYCM in 2:37. She received more attention then the winners for that temper tantrum.
Notice in her blog post today she couldn't even apologize for the inappropriate timing of her Rupp allegations, she blamed them on her emotions. Why does she continue with getting away with 12 year old behavior?
Kara's legacy has lost some shine. If she keeps slandering Salazar and NOP without real evidence (tears and feelings do not count, sorry rojo), then I hope they take legal action.

Shalane is a WAY better distance runner from 5k, 10k and up to the marathon. Goucher got her 10,000 bronze in a much weaker Osaka field than the Olympics a year later (do your own homework). In the interview linked on the front page, now Kara is saying that her words about NOP were blown out of proportion. Not that I don't agree with the rest of the answer, but that seems to be a bit of a backpedal on the first part.

I think my words were blown out of proportion. That being said, I do feel strongly that we need to clean up our sport and that we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about it. I feel like we are currently on the cusp of major change in our sport. There is a new doping case being announced daily. We are actually starting to name people. Now we just need a system to catch people quicker, not always retroactively. I do not feel that enough is being done, but I do feel like people are starting to demand change.

I can't remember whether I commented on this thread earlier. But I find it highly unlikely with what we have learnt that if Rupp etc were on the sauce that Kara wasn't either. Her husband came 6th in the 2006 WXcountry in an era when like the top 12-15 may have all been on something. And when androgel was found in NOPs hotel room, she had shared the room there.
