I think it's more that Rs know it's the kind of stuff that fuels the base's insanity and rage, so they stick to that strategy. Nothing triggers a mouth breather more than believing something "american" is being taken away by libs.

Honestly, what else can today's GQP offer their base that would actually resonate with them? Any honest effort from the right to redirect the GQP ship toward something good will end in it's faster demise. They have long passed the event horizon.

....and yet twist their brains to somehow believe that trying to steal an election (or dozens of other un-American Trumpisms) are NOT un-American. It really pisses me off when they have the nerve to still wave their American flags and call themselves patriots.

And to answer your previous question on whether young people today become more "conservative" as they age, I think the answer is yes and no. Yes, in the sense they will become more conservative on economic issues. But I think today's young people are different from the previous generations in their acceptance of diversity. They grew up with Latino and Asian kids, and went to school with them. And they know there is nothing scary about that. I don't think that will change as they get older.

Plus the GQP is still offering plenty of motivation for Dems to turn out.

Of course we can't be sure of anything since too many Americans are fixated on the idea of balancing the field.

Since you bring it up there is a great chance the "stolen election" will be their biggest campaign cry in 2024. Trump is going to spoil any shot they have of delivering a serious candidate. Knowing that, they will seek to make it a clown show from the start. Unfortunately they are well positioned to get the House majority in 2022 using the usual fear mongering tactics. Hopefully, if they do it won't be by many seats. I don't think they will get the Senate back until 2026.

Those people saw influx of immigrants to their previously homogeneous communities.

Younger generations grow up with non-white people from the beginning. For them, non-white people are part of their communities, and not uninvited guests.

Yeah very cool stuff. My main takeaway is Slide 47, which shows that alarming number of seditionists had spent 7+ hours per day on social media! Not surprising and yet still disappointing to me.
