2 miles in 9:47.6
2 miles in 9:47.6
This is the course map:
the actual "2k" mark would be just before the last line of trees above the parking area. The mat is probably just beyond that at the bottom of the hill, between that line of trees and the next (which is the "poplar lane" stretch of the course, which is the narrow path on the course and leads to a sharp 180 degree turn).
MW boys teams:
1. Wheaton Warrenville South
2. York
3. St Charles East.
Now we know what team deserves an at large for sure
Holland is significantly better than the rest of the dudes it seems.

agree, no way Thorvaldson went out in 2:43, then only 5:01 for the mile....something is off
Trust the mile mark and 2 mile mark, and approximately the 2k mark. The rest are not going to be the exact distance.
The NXN drought is over for York

Kind of expected he would win by about 10 seconds. Seems he made created that 10 seconds with a surge after the 2 mile. Lead is now 15 seconds for the penultimate split.
Man Holland crushed these dudes. He might be able to hang with Young, Sprout, Daschbach et al.

I would think so

I think Young, Daschbach and Sprout are the top 3. Schoppe probably #4, and Holland I think is #5 or 6 (depending on how much Methner left in the tank today).
Holland 8 seconds faster than last year so I was a bit hyperbolic in my prior post.
Green same time as last year. Ibrahim paid a price for trying to stick with Holland. Might not qualify now. Definitely could have if he'd tucked in with the rest of the pack.

Yeah tough to choose a winner between the top three IMO. Young is the obvious choice right now, but I think either of the other two dudes will have a better kick (especially Leo) if they're in it at the end.
NW Boys Individuals:
15:02.9 Evan Holland (Ashland OR)
15:13.3 Nathan Green (Borah ID)
15:16.0 Aidan Palmer (Franklin OR)
15:16.2 Wil Smith (Lewis & Clark WA)
15:17.1 Isaac Teeples (Kamiakin WA)
15:18.7 Tristian Merchant (Anchorage Christian AK)
15:21.4 Ahmed Ibrahim (Parkrose OR)
15:31.7 Peter Visser (Star Valley WY)
15:33.6 Charlie Robertson (Franklin OR)
15:36.6 Jonas Price (Eisenhower WA)
Big race for Tristian Merchant! That should be good for at NXN spot, assuming Kamiakin didn't run poorly.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Visser ran almost 20 seconds slower than he did at Firman (15:12.7)...
Yeah, rough day for Visser. I thought he would make it.
Is Green far and away the best junior in the country? are there any other contenders?
Course record for Holland.
re: Methner leaving some in the tank, don't see why he can't recover from an all out 5K in 3 weeks or whatever. I think the regions that run this week or last week have a big advantage come December 1.
Girls MW Teams
1. Naperville North
2. Beavercreek
3. Yorkville

No, not a course record.
Course record is Puskedra's 14:49. They "reset" the list after their latest change to the layout (2015?), but the course hasn't really been running any faster/slower so I don't really consider it different.
Boyden ran 14:59 at Bob Firman for the #4 mark.
Holland's time puts him at #6.
Midwest results are up
1. Methner 14:57
2. Brown 15:02
3. Bronson 15:05
4. Bishop 15:05
5. Spamer 15:09
6. Favazza 15:10
7. Kreis 15:20
Ah, my bad. Milesplit had 15:06 as the best prior time.
Unofficial boys teams:
1 Kamiakin WA
2 Franklin OR
3 Lewis & Clark WA
4 Bishop Blanchet WA
5 Idaho Falls ID
6 Tahoma WA
7 Camas WA
This is NOT taking out individual runners, which is going to drastically effect the team scores.
However, we do know that Kamiakin won it very handily.
The #2-4 teams will probably come from those 7 teams, but order is pretty unknown... Franklin was probably second, but with 2 individuals up high they are impacted much less by the non-scoring runners that haven't been taken into account above.
