You seem to be having a hard time tracking the criteria.

1) Aliens and UFOs were NEVER nearly universally accepted. Indeed, they were always about as far from that as you can get - believers in UFOs have always been considered crackpots.

2) The status of UFO/alien belief has never had a dramatic turnaround. Always a fringe element of society and still is.

3) Randomly guessing that the government was behind the notion of UFOs/aliens is not even in the same galaxy as showing that the government was ever behind some giant hoax. Perhaps not even in the same universe.

Excuse: Due to limited tracking capabilities at the time of the missions, the exact positions of landing sites were known to only a few kilometers; the new data currently allow a location accuracy of about 100 m (328 ft).

In a sense, this is correct. I see no need to engage your erroneous conception of the relevant happenings. This would be an even greater waste of time than what I'm doing already with you.

I shy away from being harsh whenever possible, but if you want to equate one astronaut's grossly misconstrued statement with all of NASA admitting it was pulling the wool over the world's eyes, well, that's what conspiracy nuts do and far be it from me to scuttle something you're clearly emotionally invested in.

If you want to know what was actually meant by "lost the technology," I can point you toward a number of credible sources, but I suspect this has been done earlier in the thread.

I'm the last one to sow discord among friends here, but that's a horrible, even laughable example. While a solid example of government propaganda, a lot of people knew it real time that the WMD thing was bullshit and that it was simply a pretext for going to war.
