Between 1992 and 2008, every medal in the 10,000 went to a runner of East African descent. (The last non-East African was Salvatore Antibo, who wan silver for Italy in 1988.) Galen is the first (and only) since Antibo.

Direct TV went out last 10 mins of race i entire area- severe thunder storms. I'd already sworn off watching the sport for most meets last 2 yrs, due to joke of coverage. But I'm 90% not a fan anymore. It generally wastes my time with no reward. On top of it, the Nat'l Masters track meet isn't far away- so they're screwed.
