You probably would have like the Mizuno Paradox or the early versions of the Mizuno Alchemy. Unfortunately Mizuno's current stability shoes, the Inspire and Horizon, are both very soft. Keep an eye out though for what Mizuno does in the future. Hopefully they will put out a firm shoe again. Right now I'm milking my Paradox 4 for all the miles I can get out of it as there are no good alternatives for me.
The Structure 22 gets a mention in Nike's press release which discusses their upcoming React Infinity Run (and adds to the explanation of why it was discontinued).
"...an external study by the British Columbia Sports Medicine Research Foundation (BCSMRF) on 226 runners in the Nike React Infinity Run and the Nike Structure 22, a traditional motion control shoe, showed that runners in the Nike React Infinity had a 52 percent lower injury rate than in the motion control shoe, with wearers confirming that they felt less pain in their knees and feet."

Zoom cushioning are the literal "zoom bag" that are placed inside of the midsole in strategic areas of some Nike shoes. The Peg, for instance, has a bouncy air pocket right under the forefoot. That's the zoom bag.
It can be used with any midsole material (EVA, React, Lunarlon, etc.).

Lunar foam bottomed out really quickly. Other than the free Lunar was the direct reason why runners disliked Nike. The other thing about it is that compared to current tech Lunar was not even that light. The glide 3 weighed nearly 10oz and hardly had any rubber in comparison to it's contemporaries. It was good for 200 miles. Anyway I'm sure that the Infinity is not replacing the odyssey for those that liked that extremely narrow shoe. My group will run trials for the infinity at some point but it may happen after release unfortunately. If not I will post if it seems acceptable.

What you quoted needs to be put perspective. The article does not state that stability itself leads to more injuries; it is the method of making a shoe stable that can lead to higher incidence of injuries versus other methods. Nike has introduced stability into this shoe by increasing the width. This is really good. However, I hope they use something else that makes it a true stability shoe. Everyone needs stability.
Lunarlon foam did not bottom out at all for me. It lost it's cushioning properties slowly over time. My Lunarglides and Lunareclipses lasted upwards of 400 miles. I believe the reason runners liked the Odyssey is because of the firmness, shock absorption and stable ride. The infinity may greatly appeal to those that liked the Odyssey. I can't wait until January!

Any update on this? I have been running 70-90 easy miles per week in just Structures for the past 7 years, and am very sad to see them go. I've never found another shoe with the comfort, durability, and ability to keep my legs feeling fresh.
