Hi everyone. I have not been able to post right on Sunday mainly due to social activities... But hey, that's something good!
As for this week, I had planned a 10k on Saturday, but the organization had a problem with my bib so I told my coach to reorganize this week's plan and replace the 10k with something else...
Monday: rest
Tuesday: 8k at 5'30 min/km
Wednesday: 10x200m at mile pace (?) with 1'10 rest. Averaged 40''-38''.
Thursday: 10k at 5'00 min/km
Friday: 4x1500m with 4'00 rest. The plan was to start around 6' per 1500 and cut it down. The splits were 5'55, 5'51, 5'52 and 5'52.
Saturday: 16k at 5'00 min/km. This one was planned to be done at 5'30 min/km, but it was my coach's birthday and he decided to run with me and my dad our last 8 kms. So we averaged 5'30 for the first 8, 5'00 for the next 4 and my coach told me to run at 4'30 min/km for the last 4. The splits were 4'35, 4'33, 4'33, 4'33. Felt good and strong on this last 4kms...
Sunday: rest
I decided not to push it any further on the 4x1500m for 2 reasons. My legs got pretty trashed from Wednesday's workout (plus 6k of sub 10k pace is really nice at this point) and I have an HM this weekend. Although I feel strong, a more intense workout at this point would not be as beneficial as this one was, I think.
As for this weekend's HM, I planned to go out at 1:31:30 pace through the first 10k. Maybe I'm being too conservative, but I still have that December-HM burnout fresh in my head... Let's see how this weeks' runs go!
