It's Mizuno's lightweight performance trainer/racer, similar to the Boston. Mizuno outsoles are among the most durable out there, and in this particular model there's X10 high abrasion rubber all along the lateral forefoot, not just in the heel as most shoes. The Sayonara 4 had a similar outsole setup and mine show
very mild wear after 400 miles or so, mostly under the ball of the foot and the lateral heel. The X10 rubber is very tough stuff. Mizuno's build quality is very good all around, so the upper should hold up too.
Despite my user name here, I run in other brands like Saucony, Adidas, Nike and Under Armour too, so not really a fanboy. You should check out the Wave Shadow. If it works for you and get decent mileage out of them, then you'll have plenty of options within the brand for racers and trainers. Cheers.
