Just this year, my university converted old faculty housing on campus into team houses for different sports. Right now we have baseball, soccer, and track (& cross country) team houses. Ironically, from my understanding, the track house is the one seeing the least amount of use at the moment.
There was an apartment across from the track that used to be handed down year after year by members of the cross country team. It had footprints on the ceiling from previous classes. It was always crawling with people who would live in some of the walk in closets. At some point it fell out of control of the team.
There seems to be a general theme here of most schools having an informal group of XC team members that all get a house and live together for their soph, jr, and sr years. My oldest son didn't run XC or T&F because he had skills and played D1 soccer. He and three others lived in a house together. Four other team members lived in a house two doors down and four other team members lived across the street but about six houses down the block.
Since I didn't have good enough skills to play at the D1 level I ran D1 XC and T&F instead. We had an informal team house as well. Good times!

if the school has houses off-campus and there isn't a track house, that should be a huge red flag

I fondly remember the house’s front porch, lack of laundry facilities, and proximity to historic Hope High.
Plus, who can forget the inimitable Gary, our landlord, who had three rules:

Except you have to put up with Jerry Falwell and his version of Christianity. He kind of copied and pasted BYU's policies and established Liberty in 1971. If you like being dictated to then these types of universities appeal to some.

It sounds like you're being a bit reactionary without understanding what the bible has to say. I think you should reevaluate where you're coming from and how your tone might affect people reading these posts. There's a human behind this screen you know.

I know Penn State has a team house with most of the guys in it. Although, that is XC. Im not sure about track though.
