In order to save the 10,000m on the track you need to pay top athletes to perform and in order to get them to run fast you need to have bonuses for all runners hitting certain times.

Sub 27 should be worth a nice payday for all that do it in the race, not just the winner.

That would incentivize runners to push the pace instead of sitting and kicking since they would be rewarded for their finishing time.

To pay for this you hold a huge 10K event.

If it's big, you will get sponsors.

If you get a sponsored Youtube video with enough hits, you get more money.
