I loved the song, super good beat to it and all, but unfortunately it's about the struggles of being a tranny.

Everyone who responds with a song title should say what they now think the song is really about. Otherwise this is just a weird and not very informative list.

My point is that I first thought of the song Sweet Home Alabama as a fun song about liking Alabama.
But once I learned that it was a politically charged song that took something away from it.
Especially them clearly defending Watergate.
Kinda ruined the song for me.
Perfectly in line with the subject of the thread.
For some reason you’re doubling down and insisting on a simplistic interpretation of that song’s meaning, in spite of all the evidence cited to the contrary. I had always interpreted it as a challenge to people like Young (whose music I like) to take a more realistic view of the situation when speaking about the south, as well as taking stock of some of the dirty laundry in their own backyard before issuing blanket condemnations of a region that they know little about. The “watergate does not bother me” line was not a defense of Nixon, more like their way of saying your political concerns are not something about which I frankly give a sht.

The song is about the protagonist watching a girl hooking up with a black guy in the park, and hes really really hung.
Hilariously, Apple used a cover of the song a few years ago in one of their commercials.
